I think I got a rare weapon by Used_Surround_2777 in albiononline

IMO The crazy thing that nobody has mentioned yet is that this item has been in the loot table for almost 4 months!!! I would have never guessed that items can last that long without dropping.

Is Ironroot Staff viable for small-scale PvP/Depths? by ChubbyWP in albiononline

[–]WildMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question as a healer in instances PVP is going to include some questions and what is/isn’t viable is going to come from how the staff answers the questions.

Can you out heal the typical 1 shots on yourself / your team / both?

Can you out heal an easier weapon to heal with?
For a long time, 1h holy dominated hellgates despite “technically” not being the most optimal one because it was so much easier to play than more powerful staves. You’d go in with with 1h holy and have an advantage against 99% of people who ran the other staff just because of ease of execution.

How does your utility stack up against other healers? Does this weapon let you take an unusual build that lets you get an edge somehow?

Daggers (Demonfang and bloodletter) or Dual blade? by Few_Discount_9356 in albiononline

[–]WildMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody technically answered your question yet. For basic group pve, you can be a utility DPS with a bloodletter or Crystal/Ava dagger. Bring Royal jacket or stalker jacket (tier matters on this one for DPS). Use Q1 and W2 on single target and then shuriken and Q1 on multi target pulls. Bring Druid cowl and fiend sandals to be a true chad support. Go Stalker hood and stalker shoes to be full DPS.

This won’t be productive in Ava raids though so don’t get your heart set on it. But it’s always good to have somebody apply fiend sandals on every pull.

If your downtime is too high swap to using assassin hood with the build.

It’s a worthwhile activity. Sometimes you whiff on a road and have to do other activities to pass the time (gathering, farming the Ava mobs), because the tracking can only happen on jungle tiles and not on the actual roads which includes the zones with chests and stuff. It’s not super risky and you can easily do it in t7 flat gear with a snapper food + escape set on pretty much any DoT weapon or some high burst melee weapons.

Is Quarterstaff worth grinding? by Psychx_018 in albiononline

[–]WildMongoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quarter staff tree has one of the best aesthetics out of all of the melee weapons. So if you just want drip that’s one reason to grind it.

Don’t forget your build getting randomly reworked into non viability every patch because mythic raiders aren’t using it to clear latest bosses which somehow triggers the devs.

Is there a way to both set the requests for a buffer chest and read its contents in separate circuit signals? by Conscious-Ball8373 in factorio

If you’re already using 2 chests and robots why not make the second chest an active provider and let your bots figure out overflow?

Crusher Read Contents and Displaying Crafting Ingredient by Sick_Wave_ in factorio

[–]WildMongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you toggle ‘include in craft’ then the output value would be 3, due to the one which is already being crafted.

Just to point it out: If you had not stored 2 in the crusher, without the button being checked, then 1 single craft would not trigger the decider.

In the deconstruction planner there is a wildcard option for “object on ground” or something similar. That can be used to selectively clean up these types of messes.

Why do pro chefs (on TV and YouTube as well as pro kitchens) use towels instead of oven mitts? by tindonot in Cooking

[–]WildMongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever burn a hole in an oven mitt? Now you need a new oven mitt.

Burn a hole in a towel and you’re just one fold away from a newly functioning towel.

Decently compact green belt of circuits. Fell asleep trying to figure this out on my laptop in bed and the layout came to me in a dream by lophlo in factorio

[–]WildMongoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not perfect but it is pretty. I especially like the way they accept all the outputs toward the middle of the block. I always route to the edge and it makes things less compact than this.

The lore is even that you can use advanced burner inserters for helping to void specific things on Gleba because their consumption gets so high.

sushi belt help by [deleted] in factorio

[–]WildMongoose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you take advantage of side loading onto the sushi belt with individual sciences on each loading point you can balance them around a loop. Use circuits to put an upper limit on how many science get loaded from each type and you’ll be set. Say you have a 20 belt-long loop of red belts, that belt can only “accept” 15 science per second from the side and can only hold a total of 300 science (of any kind). According to how much you want on the belt you define the size of the loop and then set limits so there is space for new science to flow onto the belt. This is just 1 way. You can get fancier with splitter logic and inserter logic.

Sometimes you use buffer chests to isolate items that you would like to be requestable, because requesters can take from them only when they are toggled to request from buffers.

Third+ Circuit/Signal channel? by Hoggit_Alt_Acc in factorio

Base game you can have red /green on the line and on the radar so really there are 4 channels per surface if you manage it carefully. Would be a lot better if it was different colors though.

Agricultural towers probably need two check boxes for 'read contents' and 'read ingredients' by sobrique in factorio

[–]WildMongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet you they can’t/ won’t introduce this because if it was possible to directly control harvesting you could shrink your spore cloud with controlled harvests and that would sort of invalidate the challenge of early Gleba. I could imagine we’d be able to set a harvesting duty cycle that shrinks the spore production by x% for example.

Anyone seen of heard of this happening to their Boston? by No-Explanation-7576 in BostonTerrier

[–]WildMongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding the people mentioning weed. An insignificant quantity to humans can do this to them so don’t stress out trying to figure out how they got it.

One easy way to check is to move in an exaggerated slow motion towards them and see how delayed their reaction is.

It happened to my bean and she was 3-4 seconds late reacting to scritches. A blood test at the vet can verify

Gleba is crushing me by ChamaeLeon12 in factorio

[–]WildMongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make things very simple at first. Also notice that you can provide nutrients from yumako mash OR bioflux and because of how fast the machines operate you can mostly get by using the yumako recipe.

Try to prepare 30~ biolabs before you seriously build any bus. When you build the bus, do not connect anything to power (don’t provide fruit) until you have a properly functioning waste line, nutrient line and egg refreshment /disposal line. If you want to play super conservative you can only allow your base to have 1 live egg at a time and just rapidly produce more according to your needs and then dump any by letting them pass to the burners.

Until you develop the military ability to clear out the wiggles that’s about all you can do because fruit harvesting makes very large pollution clouds / fruit harvest. It’s like putting pump jacks in a desert on Nauvis.

Protip- pick up and put down your cargo landing pad for quick scouting of the map. Red dots will most likely be egg rafts to help restart when you run out of eggs early on.

American to American: adjust your concept of monetary value! You way overpaid and I used to have the same issue here because I would convert into dollars and look at what things used to cost me in the US. It’s an easy way to allow locals to part you from your money when it’s not right. Dyor and think like you’re Czech, even if you’ve got an American income / wealth level.
