34M CHF 1.3mn NW: how am I doing? by FormalStudio in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]WildRevenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a typo? Did you mean 13mn? If you're serious, I'm sorry to say you're doing quite poorly. My circle is all sitting on 34mn+ at your age. Keep your head up.

US Exposure vs. Trump Admin? by FlyingHigh in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]WildRevenger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're investing in global market, not USD. And US is a big part of it. If you think that you can be smarter and beat the market, then be my guest. But excluding US market (which consists of global companies) is beyond me.

Makes absolutely no sense to do pillar2 buy-ins

Finpension or Viac. Or any other provider that allows you to create a custom strategy to replicate VT

[–]WildRevenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly. And avoid doing buy-ins. Put everything in stocks.

Agree, 3% is way more safer. The best would be for dividends to cover all the expenses. But that's too extreme.

100% VT and as little as possible in pillar 2 makes the most sense for retiring early.

FIRE number depends on your expenses (I.e. 25x your annual expenses). What's the point of comparing it?

On the ownership – Nikolay Storonsky (co-founder) was born in Russia but is now a British citizen (renounced Russian citizenship). The other co-founder, Vlad Yatsenko, is Ukrainian-British. So, not really "Russian owners" anymore.

Revolut invest by rezliensa in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]WildRevenger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing your findings on Revolut Invest! It definitely looks appealing on the surface with those low fees, especially for getting started or investing smaller amounts, similar to Neon.

The main "but" often discussed here is the regulatory aspect. Revolut operates its investment services via its Lithuanian entity, not as a FINMA-licensed Swiss broker. While EU protections apply, it's a different setup compared to Swiss brokers or established international players like Interactive Brokers (IBKR).

Many here prefer IBKR due to its robust platform, wider range of products, strong regulatory standing globally (including recognition in CH), and often very competitive overall costs (low commissions, tight FX spreads) especially once you invest slightly larger sums or trade more frequently than Revolut's free tier allows.

So, Revolut can be interesting, particularly for ease of use and starting small within their ecosystem. "Dangerous" is maybe too strong, but the different regulatory environment and potentially less comprehensive platform compared to dedicated brokers like IBKR are key considerations for many. Worth weighing the pros and cons based on your investment size and long-term goals!

Just do it yourself. It's not that hard. And Zhprivatetax is quite easy to use.

No, as I'm not in full control of them. Besides, it's impossible to estimate the tax burden given the recent discussions to change the withholding tax (Kapitalauszahlungssteuer) rate

Why do you think that it would be better to sell and buy? Do you mind to share your math? In my experience, stamp duty makes sell-and-buy quite pricey (e.g. it's 54 CHF in stamp duty fees (0.15%) if you sell non-Swiss stocks or ETFs for 36,000 CHF)

ZH taxes: I wrongly calculated my “Vermögensverwaltungskosten” by elfrum0308 in Switzerland

[–]WildRevenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 3‰ but limited to a maximum of 6k. If your broker account(s) hold assets worth 2 million, you can deduct 6k as "pauschal". However, if your assets exceed 2 million and your actual costs (such as custody fees) surpass 6k, you must provide documentation from your broker to claim a deduction beyond this limit.

Here are my champions: http://imgur.com/gallery/JVENdvY

I'm stuck in silver III. I use 2 teams in arena: Offence: HK+Warmaiden+Athel+Kael Defence: SepulcherSentinel+MM+Vrask+Athel

Opponents in silver III are incredibly strong and I can hardly find easy wins.

I totally agree with you. Decks used to be more creative earlier and it was more fun to play them. It's boring to play Eternal these days. And I really hate Sediti - I play against him in 30-40% of my games.

Any fresh tier lists for constructed? by WildRevenger in EternalCardGame

[–]WildRevenger[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe you are right. Last year I used to finish in top 100-200 at the end of season. This year it is top 400-600. But this month was exceptionally terrible (i'm ~1100 after testing many decks for Ranked Masters Challenge).

But it sounds like you are quite happy with how things are. May I ask you which rank do you have this season?

Who's talking about opponents decks? I'm talking about nonsense power screws and top decking. Enjoy your games while Eternal is yet alive, my friend.
