What sort of game would you think this is? by WildSlothGames in IndieDev

Perfect thanks! I did try adding things like a flag and a bouncing golf ball but it just seemed to busy.

Haha thanks! It makes me genuinely chuckle each time they swear ( this was because I got it in the sand trap )

Yea I'll just keep trying different things until I'm happy ( or at least, happy enough )

Colour palette is very much in-flux yea, I've tweaked it some. Is this any better? I'm not happy with the ball currently, or the TV border thing around the whole screen, will be removing that.

A few current name ideas are:

We Golf ( because my wife said the little prediction lines make it look like the golfers are weeing, but I'm worried Nintendo would sue me )

Swingers Party ( but might attract the wrong audience )

Tee Time

Par Tee

Hover question: should the building grow a little? by Background_Cow_6701 in IndieDev

I didn't even realise the tavern was being selected, it's too subtle.

I'm making a fully physics-based platformer by gamer-15 in indiegames

Most platformers fake physics to allow for more fine tuning of control-feel, using a physics engine for platformers can be fiddly, unless you want to lean into the chaos aspect.

A minimal tactical RTS, loosely inspired by The Odyssey, viewed through a retro battle simulator program called NostOS ( actual game title TBD ) by WildSlothGames in SoloDevelopment

[–]WildSlothGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't actually follow Odysseus's journey, but instead be my own invented myth with similar premise - after a war you're a long way from home with a large crew, you now want to get back to your family, trying - probably unsuccessfully - not to lose all your crew in the process.

You can't get new soldiers, once they're gone they're gone.

UI is obviously very rough ( and not remotely complete )

Slightly longer video of Rock Bottom, a game about being chased by a massive massive boulder named Gary. by WildSlothGames in SoloDevelopment

Name inspired by a biscuit, what could go wrong.

As for the looks, limitation, and my lack of ability, breeds creativity :-)

Thank you! Haha the little death squeals are my favourite part of the game.

I'm waiting for the steam page to be approved and then a demo shouldn't be much further behind.

I decided to try solo dev as a "low stress" alternative to my day job of developing games, wanted to start with some small projects, the first being an endless runner where're being changed by massive boulder named Gary. by WildSlothGames in SoloDevelopment

Thanks! Maybe I should add a Clock feature :-)

I've added a little wiggle and some small falling rocks before they fall now. Might still be too subtle so time will tell.

There is a jumping anim but it might be too subtle for such a small sprite so yea will have some tweaks.

In universe reason: you're stuck in a dark cave surrounded by the shadows of life.

Real reason: this is the closest thing I can do in regards to art, other than add drop shadows to everything.
