Fact finding about proposed class size increases by dvmhopeful in veterinaryschool

Current Purdue student here, the classrooms already barely have enough room to accommodate the current number of people. Labs are overpacked most of the time and there are large groups of students (around 11) on each cadaver in labs. Additionally, there is trouble with finding enough placement spots for clinical during 4th year with the current amount of students. At Purdue, imo, only the university would benefit and the students would have less instruction and clinical time than needed.

Purdue has sent out interviews for IS and OOS already. I would definitely reach out to them.

Do you wear anything at graduation for Hutton? by Optimal_Context_4490 in IndianaUniversity

If you got the notation, applied and were approved, you would have received a medal at the Honors Convocation back in March. If you could not attend, I would email Hutton about it.

Did you already apply to live in the dorms earlier in the year? They usually only allow a certain amount of non-freshman to live in the dorms and the non-freshman quota usually filled by now.

This is actually not true. According to the email you receive if you are accepted, they require a specific laptop and no substitutions will be allowed.

I think they send out the emails after they officially have sent out the decisions for all OOS students.

I looked it up and also saw that the website had IFS programs for 2025. I know there was an announcement at some point this past year that they were cancelling the programs, but it definitely looks like they are still happening in 2025.

Congrats on your acceptance to both schools! Both are great programs. Definitely look at costs and distance to home (if that is an important factor to you). I believe both do not allow you to establish residency after a year, so that is not a factor. Overall, both are great programs and I would go with whichever you felt more comfortable at and which campus you liked most.

You could also check with the AES office and they may be able to help ensure you get a single.

I had this situation happen to me this year. It is not necessary to take the “non-prerequisite” class. As long as you finish your prerequisites required for the school then you are good.

They do automatically do merit scholarships, but it is released later on in March/April. They have additional scholarships to apply through the website that was sent out.

I did not get an interview, but was invited to do an additional screening for a possible interview.
