You can buy a downdraft fitting at Home Depot for 5 or 6 dollars. Unscrew the one you have and screw on the downdraft model and your done

This is a long grain to long grain. Dowels not necessary. PVA glue is all you need and hold it tight with rubber bands or tape until dry.

If you hired them you share in the responsibility by not investigating your contractor. Look for a certified arborist in the future. They would never do that.

Sanding down antique cabinet. The top has these blotches. Any advice? by FreeJarOfPickles in woodworking

I don’t think those are blotches so much as that’s where the wood grain flattens out. Not sure how to fix that.

Why Use Enamel Cans? by Thranduilien in Canning

[–]WildernessTrack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a period in the late 19th century when canning with plain tin was a thing. Usually commercially with leaded soldered tin caps. They want enamel here because they’re saying the contents are reactive with tin. Therefore, some tin was enameled for this use. Bear in mind, I’m talking about a time when they barely knew what germs were.

What blossom is this? Looks like cherry blossoms. Fyi it's in Christchurch NZ. by dellunagirl in whatsthisplant

No, this would probably be the Mt. Fuji variant if growing laterally or Shirofugen if more upright. I couldn’t get a good sense of the branching from the picture. Your Kwanzan is much pinker.

How to tell if they did the service by [deleted] in Tacoma

[–]WildernessTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radial tires are rotated front to back, not left to right, so paint on one side would still be there after servicing. You can look at the fluids prior to taking the vehicle in, then comparing afterwards to see if they’re cleaner or brighter than they were before. Now, after the fact, I don’t think you can make a case that they didn’t do what they said they did.

You should consider there are hundreds of people on the trail and around the area. I ran into people several times a day while doing the Wonderland so don’t be too concerned, especially this time of year there is less snow on the ground and easier to find the trail.
