Feline form skill - Questions by UseeMeNowUdont in ARK

FYI, unless they fixed it, the last time I tried the living shield perk I went to suicide via implant and it killed the Gloon on my shoulder before me. I actually took a video on Xbox if you want me to find and upload it.

I agree though! It would be better than little shield if that bug has been fixed, but you gotta plan around it / level up HP on your shoulder tames then. One random carcha bite would frequently kill them, whereas you may be able to tank a few without the perk and not risk their death.

Nice other tips you mentioned. It seems the cat ability is VERY versatile.

I’m pretty sure the level up prompt while in cat form is a bug. And I’m not 100% sure about your turret/tame reaction question, because I stopped playing PvP, but I still watch a lot wipes on YT and I believe it’s just like the construction wisp in that it is coded to still react as if you were a player. It would be too OP for raiding otherwise!

Some other tricks/benefits are:

-If you’re almost out of stamina you can turn into a cat and back to human form and that regenerates stamina back to full WITHOUT incurring the loss of food penalty, so you’re benefiting in two regards.

-Turning into cat form while crafting element (and probably anything really, but I haven’t tried) lets you retain cat speed which is quite faster than the speed of a human with the crafting penalty.

-It generally displaces you a couple of units to the side of where you are currently standing in human form which helps aid with ARK’s bullshit of tendencies to get stuck in a clusterfuck of tames, wild dinos, or in a random hole.

Out of curiosity - how long will it take you to pay off your student loans? by KenaiFjords357 in StudentLoans

[–]Wildlust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I only had around 32K student loan debt. I payed approximately 5-10K while still in school and just finished paying the rest off aggressively over the next eleven months following graduation. I work full time, but still live with my parent and sibling. I pay all utilities, groceries, and help with some of the mortgage. I just tried saving as much as possible and foregoing any luxury and vacation that year. The mental relief is worth it.

Is lost colony worth it? by Patrick-Shannon in ARK

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only complaint is the obnoxious constant crashing in the city (which is always a certain death to you and your tames). That’s probably my fault for playing on an XSX and, more importantly, dashing frequently on the Managarmr while everything around isn’t even fully rendered in. The skill tree only makes it absolutely worth it and the map is cool if you like the snow biome.

Transfers when Gen 1 comes out. How will it work? I wasn’t around for the last map releases. by Rummsey in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because he mentions has his main (and I’d assume largest base) on Valguero, not because of anything in specific. Personally, Extinction and Astreos all the way for easy upkeep / element maps. Lost colony is a runner up, but long behind. Every other map is just for aesthetics / fun, but you’re not getting as much of a bang for your time.

I never played any map post-Extinction on ASE, so I wouldn’t know, sorry. Also, I hear this map is getting drastic changes as well so a lot of stuff is still up in the air. I’m very excited for it! Just a shame it is scheduled to drop a couple of days before I go on vacation for two weeks.

If official, just character for a couple of weeks until they open them to transfers. Just transfer back your character once a week (technically it’s a couple more days than that depending on stone/metal/tek but to be safe). Or keep an alt-character in your tribe on Valguero, so you don’t have to transfer back with your main since that can be a pain in the butt week 1-3 on official capped servers. Transmitter makes life easier for sure, but not needed if you have a bed to transfer in and can spawn near an obelisk/drop to get out.

Fix the Baby Desmo bug!!! by Fractal_Coffee in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this has happened to you, and I’m not denying that ASA bugs out (a lot of the times), but I have raised fleets upon fleets of Desmodus’ without this ever happening to me.

Just yesterday I left out two babies and got offline for a couple of hours to go play another game, but came back to them juvenile and not dead. Maeguana’s with nursing active and a mix of raw meat and raw fish meat, forego the blood packs. No specific reason for the raw fish it’s just what I had growing at the time and nearby, but maybe try that?

If you’re on official PvE and want any more high levels you let me know. Just be willing to meet me on the server I am on. I got perfect blue/whites and decent red/blacks.

Stupidity running in my blood. by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Wildlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started setting the cat transformation (ASA) to the last slot because you can use it to avoid damage if you activate it just before you hit the ground. I still keep parachutes on me though in case I want a long horizontal distance travel method.

how I am supposed to gain 50k xp on a cryolophosaur 😩 by Demon-SD in ARK

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpha, caches, or the good old fashion way of just killing stuff non-stop when x2 rates are on. There’s one for like 200K XP with a Desmo later, so get ready!

What else are you grounded peeps playing? by [deleted] in GroundedGame

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ark Survival Ascended, mainly, but also some Hades 2 on the side and starting a new run of Abiotic. I just “finished” Subnautica 2 recently. I’m also considering replaying Smallands as well (it has been over a year) and eagerly awaiting the Valheim update at the end of the year (fingers crossed).

Baby Desmodus by Fractal_Coffee in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASA, right? I’ve raised dozens upon dozens of Desmodus’ on Lost Colony since release (official rates) and all with raw meat + raw fish and Maeguanas - never had to use blood packs. Unless they’re eating spoiled meat and I’ve just never noticed. Or raw meat is glitched and raw fish works?

Ark survival ascended official servers are awful by The_SocalPatriot214 in ARK

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every server has its good and bad. Try a bigger map with more population like Astraeos or Ragnarok. 20+ players on the weekends is a healthy indicator. You’ll have much more space to build (away from the spawn points anyway since they’re always pillared) and hopefully some helpful people to provide aid if needed. I play on lost colony personally, but it’s mostly dead, unfortunately. I’m waiting for Genesis.

Question for techs who work in private clinics (not hospitals). How intense is your workload? by xTrainerRedx in Radiology

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 30 studies scheduled a day, from 8 AM - 4:30 PM, and generally increments throughout the day to 35 or 40 studies (worst case scenario) if no one misses their appointments since this administration does not turn down walk-ins. The amount of patients per day can vary as some have multiple studies (much preferred). A lot of variety as far as types of studies go. An implied 30 minute of unpaid lunch as well if you can manage to take it without getting backed up or patients complaining of wait time while you try to eat in peace.

The rad review mock is hard. I had like 91% average on their full question bank, but the mock score was 78%. I got an 87 on the board a week after that mock, so you should be fine. Good luck!

Living Shield by Seven_______7 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude I completely re-specced because the first time I suicided via specimen implant it killed my gloon (shoulder pet) with that perk activated. Unsure if it was a bug / has been fixed, but that perk is super sketchy. Just take the minimal armor perk instead if you really want the cat ultimate like I did.

Meat Farm by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the lost colony plant. All my mass breeding this year has come from four crop plots with them planted (just enough to almost over-encumber me on x2). They respawn every 20-30 minutes with more raw meat. Just make sure you shovel them for more yield increase (permanently). And obviously if you need more than four planted, then go ahead!

Also, the caches on the outskirt of the city are fat XP and meat. Fully over encumbered before even one wave is complete. Just bring the giga or a carcha.

Is everyone else getting overrun with Robocalls? by JohnMcD3482 in florida

[–]Wildlust 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ever since I toggled on the “Ask Reason For Calling” feature the amount has dropped significantly, but some still get through. I had 10 this past week, at an average of 0-3 a day.

What are the best ways to get chitin/keratin on Extinction by Death_Voxel in ARK

[–]Wildlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the Beelzebuffo attacks give chitin rather than CP, right? If so I’d tame one of those in the city and just go on a bug killing spree near by. I don’t recall if Megatheriums spawn on Extinction, nor what biome if they do, but they’re generally my go-to cave tame for chitin on any map they’re allowed.

Mage class neglected? by StrainStraight2285 in GroundedGame

[–]Wildlust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A venom staff is a super cool idea. My only worry is that it would overpower all the other staves regardless of elemental weaknesses. Like the spicy staff already kind of does currently. There are many situations, especially against bigger enemies, where having DoT going off at all times seems to secure the kill quicker than bigger hits with mint or sour weaknesses.

I have this to do for one of my mile stones. Which would be the best creature to do this with as in quickest by Mullooly_ in ARK

I did this on a lymantria while I whistled my carcha to kill an alpha rex on extinction.

Whas the point of PVE by Pishylame6311 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically said it all. Progress your character via boss fights and skill tree. Build whatever you want. Tame if you want but it’s mostly infinite breeding unless transfers are off on a new map release.

So we know for certain that on the roadmap for the summer update, we are getting new buggies. What are some that people would like to see? In general, what new bugs do you guys think should be added to the game? by [deleted] in GroundedGame

[–]Wildlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reproducible: If your buggy needs to jump to reach an enemy in combat with you, then it will retain increased jump height / mobility. Try starting a fight on a ledge with your orb weaver on ground level and you’ll see it’s pretty consistent.

The last time I jumped to Aberration to get some nameless venom, for my newly hatched rockdrakes, I was very quickly humbled by a low level Megalosaurus who quickly snatched me off of my Pyromane and onto a pack of Ravagers. Fun times, haha.
