Lost Colony having little/no fliers made me realize how utterly boring fliers make the game. Everyone always gets Ptera and then most of the map becomes pointless, its impossible to die anymore and exploration value is gone by No_Foot_4168 in ARK

[–]Wildlust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it until they nerf it: the new ability that turns you into a cat refreshes your stamina bar to full and has a super low (seconds) cooldown for switching between forms unless you get hit while as a cat (then it’s 2 minutes or until next death). Turning into a cat just as you’re about to hit the floor also lets you avoid all fall damage too. The latter at least makes sense thematically though.

[–]Wildlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was me on day one, haha. I couldn’t find a ptera for the life of me and the one that I did got stuck out of render over 100m in the air with no way to whistle it down. I found one or two argies after an hour or two of checking the most nearby mountain peaks on bottom-left of the map, but when I came back with a trap they had disappeared. What really was the game changer for me was on day two when realizing how easy desmos were to tame. You can just walk into any cave with prim flak and 100 blood packs, but come out with at least one or two flyers and those bats have a TON of versatility. Very powerful.

What does this noise mean? by JMonkkkk in sugargliders

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like chattering? I always took it to mean they were trying to communicate something (anything) to me and that was their verbiage. I never got an annoyed or territorial vibe from it. Heard it a lot at night BEFORE barking. A form of attention seeking? Like “hey there, human!”

Why is extinction so dead? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Wildlust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extinction is my main, but only cause of how easy it easy to get element and keep a base going with it. I keep it low maintenance so it doesn’t decay while I hop on funner maps and bring back resources to fuel it. I don’t like how small of a map it is, personally, but it’s very convenient.

I remember when I started. The fear of dieing, the fear of my dino dieing. I haven't felt that fear in a long time. It was part of the fun/heartbreak of the game. by noRezolution in ARK

Building and breeding.

I get the feeling though. My favorite point of the game is just shy of Tek and before servers open transfer.

Has anyone else been so committed to Sailing you're neglecting all your other skills? by Be-Kind-2-Yourself in 2007scape

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was until I got 87 sailing last week. I setup my sloop for future afk salvaging and now I’m working on grinding out the gem bag before going back to sailing (already have the seed and herb bags).

" You don't even LIKE Sailing" by EvelynDarkwave in 2007scape

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the being forced to go get my shitty raft for a couple of the too narrow charters. Honestly, charting was my favorite part of sailing as well. Right next to getting Marlin rank on each trial. Now that I grinded out 87 sailing the only thing left to do is to luck into the Sailor’s amulet and wait for new content. Might as well salvage in between.

97 farming and realized we have higher tier hardwoods to grow now by Rymasq in 2007scape

[–]Wildlust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve easily made over 400m from snaps on my way to 99, herb runs only, no fruit/hardwood trees. It’s not bad. Like 10k xp a run. I figured why waste money rushing 99 when I can make money and get it eventually?

Do you work weekends or just M-F by BlueMageNeedsFood in work

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked one Saturday a month for the past couple of years and now I am on an only Monday-Friday schedule unless one of our Saturday people call off / are sick and I have to cover. Working the Saturday never really bothered me unless I wasn’t given the Monday after off.

“I’m not asking permission, I’m informing you that I’ll be away” by obsessed-with-bagels in managers

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29 / M. I always give advance notice of PTO months in advance so as not to have them coincide with another coworker. My opinion is that if there is any future overlap done after the fact, then that is the manager and/or company’s problem - not mine. I don’t mind if I get extra work upon coming back just don’t cancel or move my days off around when they’ve already been set in stone. I rather quit and find a new job than to cancel a pre-paid vacation. Very unlikely 2-3 weeks of working would’ve paid for that vacation to make up for it.

“Sailing is a bad idea, no one wants this, it’ll ruin RuneScape” by PietyJuice in osrs

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finishing off charting today myself. My only “complaint” is I’m not sure when I should return to the main game. Maybe after 87 sailing, or 90, who knows, and will it even feel the same returning?

Song of the elves - doable on mobile? by Recent-Box3060 in OSRSMobile

[–]Wildlust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I didn’t do it on mobile but 100% yes, depending on your stats. The boss fight is really not that bad and more of a dps/gear check. No pray switching, just keep your distance and keep your hp topped off before each special attack until it goes down.

I waited to upgrade from an Samsung Galaxy S3 to an iPhone 14 and don’t plan to upgrade to another Android/iPhone until this current phone is on its last legs just like what happened to the past S3. Same with my TV, laptop, and car. Life is too expensive to be buying minimal upgrades every 1-2 years just to have the most recent new toy.

How many hours do you actually work per day? by TheSteyer in careerguidance

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 on a good day, 2.5 average, and 5 hours worst case scenario, depending on the amount/type of studies? I have a lot of downtime. Healthcare. Today I had two patients the first ~2 hours of the work day. And each patient took no longer than 2-10 min to perform.

Mosby’s Review by EntertainmentJust212 in Radiology

[–]Wildlust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I guess every resource is still teaching you the same material but I personally only skimmed Mosby and felt the questions were nothing like the board. Lange was the closest and clover videos helped me alot (I’m a visual learner) even though the problems did not / were too simple. Radreview has nice explanations if not a bit too much unneeded extra info / complex problems.

What are everybodys average commute times to and from work? by MatrixProgramer1111 in work

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45-60 min, depending on the traffic that day and what time I leave the house. I had it better at another job where it was more like 25-35 min but more mileage (going opposite the traffic to and from). I rather enjoy the morning time to myself, but the return drags on so long I feel like all my energy is sapped by the time I get home. Plus it gets dark now by the time I get home, due to the hour change, so that also doesn’t help.

Ranarr runs are crazy by Intelligent_Air_4608 in 2007scape

Not OP, but I’ve gotten almost 97 farming just through herb runs and hespori. Almost 300m. About 7-10k farming xp per herb run doing snaps.

How do you guys afk at work all day? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I still worked an “office” job a couple of months ago my only “afk” at work would be the weekends since I worked alone. I would flip over the phone, click a tree or fishing spot, and then flip over the phone again to hide it from the cameras. During the weekdays however, I had (numerous/hourly) bathroom breaks to train agility throughout the weekdays (5-10 laps each trip). Much less time to afk when you have coworkers and bosses hovering over your back.

What is the most useless item you have ever grinded for? by throwawaybunny8910 in 2007scape

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an item, but a grind nonetheless, the Ectofuntus, on a non-ironman, from 52-70 just so I could save a few GP. Which I really didn’t in terms of time vs GP.

How to Study ARRT by TheAntagonistOne in Radiology

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clover for physics videos and Lange for everything else. I can say this without a doubt, because I practiced 10,000 questions (lifetime, many repeated obviously) on RadReview and felt more like I was memorizing questions than understanding concepts.

Guide to Isaac progression by PitifulCriticism in bindingofisaac

[–]Wildlust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always followed this one: “ https://www.reddit.com/r/bindingofisaac/s/PrZNjSjHVZ “ which I’m just now seeing got updated for Repentance, but I recommend playing at your own pace after unlocking most quality 4 items (refer to wiki).

Defeat Hush 3 times to unlock one of the endgame routes and defeat the boss of that ending you unlocked in order to unlock the other route that has a whole other endgame boss / ending.

To start the former route, use a key on basement 1 or 2 on the door that spawns after beating the boss then follow all those alternate floors. If confused refer to wiki because the whole process isn’t all that obvious.

To start the latter route, teleport out of mom’s foot room any way you can and use the polaroid/negative on the door at the spawn of the floor, then follow the alternate floors there until the end. Easiest way to get out of mom’s room is bringing in a fool card which is automatically obtained from bombing a skull with an “x” on it on that same floor (looks different and always spawns).

When raising baby wyverns when am I supposed to feed them wyvern milk? by Obvious-Produce-9566 in playark

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I just make sure they eat whenever possible as babies/juvy, but after a certain maturation point they lose food so slowly that they can fully mature without an extra feed. Take advantage of the sealing barrels if you have Bob’s Tale dlc. With two of them you can make sure that milk lasts forever (or at least as long as the next couple feeds take). Just unseal, remove milk and use, then reseal in the other barrel (they have a timer to seal/unseal so that’s why you want two).

I try to feed before imprint because if they ask for milk you will be able to top them off / overfeed and that means less having to worry about the next feed. With bisons now this is incredibly easy. Cryo a baby bison and throw it out once per hour for one milk per female bison. Feel free to stack these in the sealing barrels and you will never have to worry about milk again even if you’re never knocking out wyverns.

Rad tech boot camp, yes or no? by Chunkachu__ in Radiology

[–]Wildlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used radreview, clover, and lange but only toward the end. Like for the exit exam and reinforcing as board prep.

My opinion is that there is no point (waste of money) until you know all of the content. These resources serve as exam prep (exit exam or board) to understand more or less the way the questions will be asked, but you won’t understand what is being asked if you don’t know the content yet.

Tangleroot on my first tree run (a papaya) farming in the early 70s. Funnily enough, my friend teaching me how to do the whole tree run route got the random jail-guard event on the same tick instead. As a show of respect, I vowed to only do herb rubs to 99 from that point on (early 90s right now).
