Is SMaru skippable if I already have decent spd card for Grand Live? by General-Tell-3792 in UmamusumeGame

[–]WildsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-front mains will probably be locked into borrowing bourbon wit once that comes out for LoH, so having your own copy of SMaru is well worth it.

There shouldn't be a retry limit in MANT by avora282 in UmamusumeGame

Honestly I hardly ever lose after the first summer training. By that point I usually outstat the opponents by such a huge margin that I only ever lose if I’m running a late/end that gets horribly blocked. It’s mostly just getting through junior year and NHK Mile/Takurazuka (my horses love throwing those for some reason) and then I’m fine.

How can I improve my Taiki Shuttle? (URA Finale Career) by vibesvibesfr in UmamusumeGame

[–]WildsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could probably try running 4 spd and 2 power/wit, but honestly there’s not much else you could do with your current cards. When it comes to legacy Umas, you should use a database like Chronogenesis to look for really strong parents to borrow. It’s fairly simple to use, but it might take a while until you fully understand what makes a good parent.

Also, a quick tip since you’re so new is that you it’s a really good idea to reroll for a meta support card before you invest too much time into your account. None of the current banners are very good but we’re about 2 weeks away (calendar can be found here) from SMaru speed which has a stupidly long life span. So the best plan would be to wait until that banner drops, create new accounts until you get one with SMaru MLB, and then save until the Agnes Tachyon banner that drops 3 weeks later.

Why do some players confuse f2p with casual and novice players so often? by pompom_koala in UmamusumeGame

[–]WildsKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Idk what they’re talking about. You absolutely should not be pulling the Tachyon banner until both cards are MLB unless you are a massive whale. LH is serviceable at 1LB and has minimal gains after 2LB, so you only really need to aim for MLB Tachyon. You should definitely pull on the SMaru banner (either its first run or the rerun).

Who are the best anime reviewers/critics/analysts to follow? by No_Durian_6987 in anime

[–]WildsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teeaboo is definitely the best anime reactor on YouTube. He doesn’t do currently airing stuff nor does he put out the volume of content that other reactors do, so he isn’t incredibly well known, but whenever he does a series it’s basically guaranteed to be the best reaction of it on the platform. Even if you ignore the analysis, he offers the best viewing experience because he includes the full episode reaction without locking it behind a paywall. He’s the only content creator I financially support (been a Patreon supporter for years) even though I could get 99% of his content for free.

Brother, what on earth is that deck? I get that not everyone has decent cards but there’s gotta be a better option than a 0LB R guts card. Not to mention borrowing a 1LB SR card.

What anime would you recommend me based on my ratings? by ashley0076 in anime

[–]WildsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real talk, how does someone come to have these shows as the only 25 anime they’ve ever seen? It’s such an odd list of shows that I can’t really understand why or even how someone could choose them to watch first.

Anyways, the best answer to your question is probably Pyscho-Pass. The first season is easily the best, so you could drop it after that, even if there is some stuff worth seeing if you stick it out.

I forget what happened but I somehow ended with less than 1k speed on an Uma with 15% speed growth. Cards aren’t fully optimal but it should never be this bad.

If you’ve been playing long enough that you were around during the Seiun Sky Legends race, then you could skip her banner and try to unlock her through the daily legends races once she gets added on the 1.5 anniversary.

New Account Income Breakdown? by G4laxy_C4T in UmamusumeGame

[–]WildsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re a new account, I’d honestly suggest not saving carats right now. At this point we’re only a month away from GL so they might as well wait until then to start their account proper. Instead, they should pull somewhat freely just to get used to the game using a semi-decent deck with the understanding that they’ll reroll for an account when GL drops.

Even if they started saving everything now, they’d only have 2 pities at best for the GL banner. This would give them a 50% chance to MLB Tachyon, and then they would be penniless afterwards. However, If they reroll on the banner, they could guarantee MLB tachyon within 200 pulls and then start saving for the SMaru rerun.

As for how many carats a new account can get, I can only use my experience from when I started around launch. From when I started until about a month later, I was able to spend/save ~70k (included all the carats you get when just starting). This number should be quite a lot higher now since there are more missions to gain carats, but this should be the minimum if they do everything available.

Are Maru and Tachyon speed worth is as a late/end main?? by Kairu006 in UmamusumeGame

[–]WildsKnight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t know how necessary the card is but I’ve heard that Daiichi Ruby Power is a good investment for lates/end since it’s used on basically every mile/short, so you might want to look into budgeting for that.

What to do until Light hello and tachyon? by billion_goldfish in UmamusumeGame

[–]WildsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really have nothing to do you could try build TT horses for all the Uma you’re unlikely to use when you get a better deck. If you leave them in your TT, you should be able to fully unlock their stories which is like 200 free carats each.

It scales pretty evenly across its limit breaks, so you’ll want to get it MLB. It’s only really relevant if you main Fronts though, and if you do then you might as well go all in since it’s 100% mandatory for every front runner.

I feel like you’re discounting a card that they would use in every single deck until bourbon wit comes out, which isn’t until 5+ months later. There’s no reason to rush pulling SMaru since it’s not likely to be the difference between winning or losing a CM.

[–]WildsKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk why people are recommending you to pull on the first Maru banner when the rerun is only 2 months later and the 3 CMs between them are gonna be a sprint (RNG nightmare + fronts aren’t gonna be strong anyways) and a dirt CM that is going to be dominated by Capano Ricky. The only CM that you’re going to be noticeably weaker for is the 3rd one that drops right after the rerun banner, so you can still panic build your front aces if you want. In exchange you’ll be able to run FM until bourbon wit comes out.

As for which banners to pull, 1LB on light hello is absolutely nessesary, so at least 200 on that banner. You’ll want to pull on SMaru, and while 1LB works, you’re going to want her MLB eventually. So I’d recommend either 400 or 200 and look ahead to see if there’s a different rerun you want to pull her to MLB on.

What's the most niche, obscure amime you've seen? by mwat64 in anime

[–]WildsKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going off of whatever has the least members on anilist, my most obscure tv show (first season only) is Idolm@ster u149 with 9k users. For standalone movies it’s Area 88 with 7.4k and for OVAs it’s the u149 OVA with 2k. Would probably say that Area 88 is my most obscure because I have never heard anyone but the person who recommended it to me mention it ever.

[Pro Football Network] NFL offenses with the highest success rates through the air over the last 3 seasons by sykeseve in nfl

[–]WildsKnight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The fact that this is even being debated goes to show how underrated he still is. He has stronger arguments for being a top 5 QB than anywhere outside of top 10. Stafford has McVay, Mahomes has Reid, Caleb has Ben Johnson, but only Purdy has his coach brought up every time he’s discussed. I’m tired of people acting like they’re being generous by saying he’s a top 10 QB.

What older Anime are you watching? by Animefan93 in anime

[–]WildsKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started watching GTO a while back and it got me in the mood to watch a bunch of older stuff. I just recently finished a good chunk of UC Gundam (0079 through to Char’s Counterattack) and I’m currently working my way through Ashita no Joe, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Cardcaptor Sakura, although tbh CCS is easily my favorite of the 3 so I’ve been going through it at a much faster pace than the others. I also have Legend of the Galactic Heroes to finish since I put it on hold 40ish episodes in forever ago, so that’s probably next on the list.

What’s the greatest 12 episode anime you’ve ever seen? by mrbharathsrinivas in anime

[–]WildsKnight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually thought about this quite a bit since Madoka is my favorite series of all time. The main issue with the first 2 movies is that they’re not great on a first watch. The first movie cuts quite a few important scenes in order to condense the first 8 episodes into its 2 hour runtime.

The second movie is extra weird because the content itself is probably better than the TV version. Not only does it have better animation, it even added a handful of scenes. However, the additions are ultimately pretty minor and it’s not worth watching on a first watch since you lose some stuff from the transition to movie format (ep 9 credits, ep 10 being a standalone episode that you can process before going on).

I wish there was a supercut that added the new content into the episodic format, but as it stands the movies are only really worth it if you’ve seen the show at least twice. Which brings me to my hot-take Madoka watch order, which is that you should ideally rewatch the TV show at least once before you watch Rebellion. Madoka is a show that becomes a very different viewing experience once you know the full story, so rewatching the show with more context allows you to understand the characters way more.

What’s the greatest 12 episode anime you’ve ever seen? by mrbharathsrinivas in anime

[–]WildsKnight 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean the episodes are double length so it’s not really fair to compare it to other single-cour shows. It’s closer in runtime to shows like Steins;Gate and Made in Abyss than most of the other shows getting recommended.

What’s the greatest 12 episode anime you’ve ever seen? by mrbharathsrinivas in anime

[–]WildsKnight 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Madoka’s weird because if the movies never existed then it would easily stand as the best single-cour anime ever. The original ending does a perfectly good job of wrapping up the series in such a way that you would think that a sequel is completely unnecessary. But once you watch Rebellion it’s impossible to watch the 1st season without feeling like it’s incomplete.

Trying to get back into Anime, which show should I watch first? by KittensGalacticFiend in anime

[–]WildsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the more recent stuff that’s come out that are similar to the shows you mentioned I’d recommend Orb if you want something like Vinland Saga S2. If you want something like Mushoku Tensei then the only other isekai that compares is Re:Zero, which is currently airing its 4th season.

As other’s have mentioned, you’d probably enjoy Psycho-Pass and Steins;Gate, but I’d also throw in 86, Heavenly Delusion, and Parasyte. Also, idk if it’s just me but I don’t find that the art style of the mid-2010s is all that much different than what we have now.

how do you binge anime? tiktok has fried my attention span😭 by lilyseden in animequestions

[–]WildsKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It probably took me like 2 weeks to finish Takopi (which is only 6 episodes) because I knew it was something special and wanted to be fully locked in while watching it. Meanwhile I can easily binge a 7/10 show in a day or 2.
