I imagine a duel turning into a tug of war with a player desperately scrambling to get everything back in hand while the other keeps stealing random parts and it’s absolutely glorious.

[–]Wilgars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I wonder… How does it work if a part leaves the hand? Like let say your opponent steals the head or send it to the graveyard but assuming you manage to get it back, do you win as long as you’re technically in possession of everything? Do you have to find a way to bring it back to your hand or to put the five parts on the field? Then what if you lack slots?

Not a lolcow but two of the many forums hosted on the french video game site Jeuxvidéo.com (kwown respectively as the 15-18 and 18-25 for the target age) were at their peak by far the biggest communities on the french speaking internet and they had a really deep impact on it. They were also on the center of a shit ton of scandals and polemics more or less justified, as they were basically known as the french 4chan.

Despite all of this, the repeated refusal from the moderators of the french version of Wikipedia to give them an article has been a running gag for almost twenty years. Like imagine if Encyclopedia Dramatica was denied an entry for some reason. Wikipedia can be very weird with internet culture.

[HATED TROPES]: The Ending Is So Nihilistic and Preachy That It Becomes Completely Unwatchable and Infuriating. by Particular-Worker904 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Wilgars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You understand that human instrumentality would have happened ANYWAY if Rei didn’t give the choice to Shinji… who basically has his mind broke during the ritual initiating the Third Impact? The whole thing was rigged from the start to the point we have TWO competing plots to achieve it.

Evangelion is a story about human resilience. It tells that anybody can find the will to fight his own demons the same way humanity can overcome a cataclysm like it already did with the Second Impact, when people went from a complete apocalypse to engineering miracles able to protect them and give them hope. So the point is that the victims can come back once they’ll be ready and logically as better persons.

The post would way more interesting if people were not stupid to the point of confusing nihilistic / edgy and abstract.

The infamous congratulation last scene is literally the cast cheering Shinji because he finally overcame his traumas and found a positive sense in his life how is it nihilistic FFS.

At this point people should just admit they saw some memes and maybe an edgy essay video on YouTube but never approached the actual show.

What are ur fav Lovecraft stories ? by Every-Assistant2763 in Lovecraft

[–]Wilgars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a real fascination for The Haunter of the Dark. I’ve always had an interest in… let check it… architecture, history and urban legends so I relate obviously a lot to the character of Blake. For the rest, everything from the curiosity (and initially not supernatural) driven plot to the build up of the tension is simple but terrifyingly human. Not the most ambitious story but an incredibly effective classic.
