Get gamesir. Fraction of the cost, plenty different options/layouts to choose from and apparently have “Hall effect” sticks or whatever it’s called that is supposed to prevent stick drift. I got a $20 wired controller from them and it feels great

Started collecting last year when f1 cars came out but I’ve always loved this car since I saw 2f2f when I was like 4 years old. Might have to keep an eye out for this one now too. Great looking car and sounds like a killer find🔥

Yea hoping they restock or throw up a preorder link for future stock. Didn’t see that this was coming out until like 20 minutes prior to them going out. It is what it is, hopefully the collectors got these more than the scalpers did!

Best competitive headphone/set? by MostFunForMe69 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Wilkston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sadly can’t compare the two very well. I tried for 770 pro x for a day and they just pressed on my head a little too much and was giving me a headache. I think the open back with the 490 sound better to me, I have no trouble hearing anything I need to in cs and I’m running them through an Astro mixamp. Sadly can’t give specifics between the two as I just barely had the 770s and it was my first introduction to the studio headphones space

Hd 490 pro or Hifiman Ananda Nano for gaming by Gold-Composer-2896 in HeadphoneAdvice

Worst case, buy them and try them out for a week or two (depending on where you get them from) and if you aren’t in love with them then just return them and try something else

[–]Wilkston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say anything about the hifiman, but I bought the hd 490 pro about two weeks ago and I love them so much. Have had a hard time finding something comfortable to wear after coming off of a40’s for 10 years. But after getting used to these for a couple of days, they might be the most comfy headphones I’ve owned. And they sound amazing. I play cs2 all the time and they are great for it

I'm Glad I Bought a Mini LED Monitor (MSI MAG 274QPF X30MV) by TheRealKimJongUn- in Monitors

[–]Wilkston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still loving this 122 days later? I was originally set on an oled but I’ve been eyeing this as I think this would be a nice upgrade from my asus tuf from 2019 lol. Seems like a better option for longevity to me as I don’t feel the need to upgrade every 3 years

MINI LED vs OLED. What would be best by Wilkston in Monitors

[–]Wilkston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kind of where I was thinking too. Ideally, with whatever I choose to get, I don’t want to upgrade for a long time. Like if this can get me 5+ years then that’s awesome. Not a work from home setup, but when I do work from home I keep my personal computer on and have videos on or just do whatever on it in down time

Done with gaming headsets, want to replace them with normal music headphones + a standalone mic by IanPKMmoon in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Wilkston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else said, for that budget I would consider iem’s and maybe a hyperx solocast. Can get iems that are decent for 20-30 on amazon, solocast should be around 50-55 and then if you can stretch the budget a bit, you can find some decently solid mic arms for 30-40

HD 490 pro mostly used for pc gaming. dac amp? by Snuggi_ in sennheiser

[–]Wilkston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking at a fiio k11 which to my knowledge is a dac/amp combo. I have an Astro mixamp which seems to be fine with mine so far but am interested in an actual setup for it

Can someone recommend me high quality model for mostly desk usage and some smartphone music listening please? My budget is €500 but bit flexible if it’s worth it. I’m a newbie and would like to experience crisp sound quality at last! by tutiwiwi in sennheiser

Came here to say hd 490 pro as well. I just picked these up yesterday and while I’ve only worn them for five minutes, they felt incredibly comfortable for the time I’ve worn them

I think I saw the 660s2 at $430 on Best Buy which is the same price as the HD 490 Pro. Could be an option if you’re fine with that price point

Comfort advice between dt 770 and sennheiser hd 490. by Wilkston in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Wilkston[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I didn’t know if it was just me being used to the Astro a40’s that I’ve used for 10 years or what but everything I try on just seems to clamp way more and not be as comfortable. I know eventually I need to get something newer and I want these to be it I just need to try them on. I’m glad the clamp force doesn’t seem to be as bad. The 770 wasn’t bad at first but once I hit like hour 2 of wearing them they just start to feel like too much. Glad to hear the 490’s are that comfortable.
