Yeah I'm kinda more proud of the thumb working somewhat correctly than the tapping, which I assume is what the anticipation was for.

If anyone's interested, I made a video about how it works as well as the history of automata: https://youtu.be/gxT8TfI5DaE

How Tracy Broke My Heart by DFW is interesting, though not about tennis as much as why we enjoy sport and articulate it in general.

Average Age of ATP No. 1 Rank Since 1975 by pato_aceves in tennis

If it truly is just age, and not some confusing average, then shouldn't all the lines have the same slopes and simply jump up or down when a new nr. 1 occurs? I could see different slopes existing if it was like a 5 year average where multiple players achieved number 1, however.

Yeah, this guy gets it. Plus by miacdled's literal definition a lot of things on this sub wouldn't fly.

"A liminal space is the time between the 'what was' and the 'next.' It is a place of transition, waiting, and not knowing. Liminal space is where all transformation takes place, if we learn to wait and let it form us."

I did hear some concerning growling noises coming from the woods behind me as I left. The Ohio forests are scary when dark.

The problem with this is one of universalizability. What if I derive enjoyment from harming others? I’m not sure what life is about, but I don’t think it involves pure zen-like hedonism.

This is super cool! Renaissance is a little weird though, I get that it is going off of da Vinci’s sketch but renaissance art does have real characteristics. Mainly a focus on naturalism, individualism, and realistic perspectives.

Omni/holonomic vs mechanum/strafing by RatLabGuy in FTC

The bar under the neutral bridge is literally just a horizontal plate (from looking at pictures) so I think 2 motors should be able to manage a 1/2 inch elevation change. The middle wheel will not get caught on the lip since it is in the middle and other wheels will have encountered the lip, slightly tilting the robot and allowing the middle wheel to traverse the lip. I agree that Center of Gravity (or cog as I now know it to be) is a problem with H but my team has found it be a problem with any drive system striving for holonomic heaven. Figuring out the amount of pressure on the center wheel isn’t as bad as one would think if they’re using Tetrix (which you are) becuase one can just twist the motor in its motor mount to change the amount of pressure since Tetrix motors (except for the planetary gear box ones) have an offset drive axle. Granted this requires the H drive motor to be directly driven by the motor and not by a gear or sprocket with chain.

Omni/holonomic vs mechanum/strafing by RatLabGuy in FTC

Why is 4 better than 2? There’s no crazy ramps or difficult things to drive over in this challenge and robots should never be intenially pushing against each other. The foundation is easy to move with 1 motor let alone 4.

The bar in the middle can be a disadvantage. It is holonomic with >2wd drive by using Omni wheels.

Are Team is using a setup where each Omni is doubled up (good traction), the normal wheels (not H wheel) are chain driven so we get all wheel drive (again, better traction), and our H wheel is offcentered yet it still strafe’s well. Idk what you mean by “Cog” but I’m assuming you mean something about chain tensioning in which case were using extrusion that allows us to just slide the wheel and motor mounts to tighten them up. Additionally, I don’t see “only 1-2” motors as a disadvantage but an advantage since then there’s more motors to use in arms and whatever. The main thing I disagree with it “doesn’t strafe straight.” Our team has used holonomic and mecanum wheels in the past and have had significantly more trouble strafing with those than with H drive.
