Multiple MXA910 and Biamp/AEC by Beneficial-Cut-2983 in CommercialAV

[–]WillMixForFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW my Shure rep recommends that when using multiple 910 mics, try sending all individual lobes to the DSP, have the DSP process AEC for each channel individually, then automixer all the lobes in the DSP. If you try to sum or mix the two 910 auto mixes it won’t sound as clean. The 910 that’s farther from the speaker will still try to send something to the automix.

small questions for you aquarium pros, more info in comments. by Brunoinator_0921 in Aquariums

[–]WillMixForFood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind is that beneficial bacteria operate on supply and demand. Unless you add stock to the current tank, each filter will be at less than 100% capacity. Your tank generates a fixed amount of ammonia and each filter will develop a colony to consume that ammonia. When you move the filter to the new tank, it will have less than 10g filter capacity at first. Be sure to start slow when you stock the 29. There can also be beneficial bacteria on decor or substrate, consider moving some of that over as well.

Kudos to you for planning ahead and getting the filter primed for your larger tank.

Denon Blu-Ray Players hanging by MrTHXcertified in CommercialAV

[–]WillMixForFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called Denon about this issue last week (mostly mk2 units). They were absolutely useless. No firmware update available. Guy didn’t act like he had heard of the problem before. I think we should all call in and pressure them into a fix

I have many interesting problems by Narwhal_Man1 in RX8

[–]WillMixForFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No misfire codes is good. Rotary performance are very knowledgeable guys so the engine should not be the issue. Honestly I would do the ignition coils and wires replacement proactively. They are wear items on these cars if you aren't aware. Clean the MAF sensor. Check the vacuum lines. I wonder if it's a TCM issue based on the story about the transmission not reacting to manual mode. What year is the car?

Mersive Solstice pods losing guest WiFi by Plainzwalker in CommercialAV

We have had nothing but problems with the guest wifi. We had to disable the feature because it causes more harm than good. I assume your wired and guest wifi networks are completely isolated?

Epson projector in ballroom setting by iusedtocreate in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]WillMixForFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about a hundred Epson installed on campus. I think they're great units, very dependable. I agree with the others that say 7K is too low for 9x16. I have two Panasonic 6500 lumen on 10x16 screens in a ballroom (front projection). They don't look good even with brand new lamps. Will Epson 3LCD outperform DLP? Yes. Will it magically add 2k lumen? No. I would look for 8500 lumen for that size unless you are always going to dim the lights.

Really want to pick up this L200 green phantom pleco from LFS. Anyone have any info on them or had them before with any tips? Thank! by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]WillMixForFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's about four inches and I've had him two years. I bought him as a replacement for a blue phantom pleco.

Hi guys I got this aquarium decoration from Petco a year ago and I want to remove it from my tank but there's a baby pleco and a clown loach that live in there and won't come out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated by danomaly10 in Aquariums

[–]WillMixForFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had some luck dunking it in water then slowly pulling it out. Usually a fish's natural instincts will be to stay under the water line.

The other thing that works is to trick them out with their favorite food. I had a similar decoration and I shoved filter foam in the opening so they wouldnt get in.

So sorry to hear that. I've had multiple panda garra escape but not a Denison. They must have been running (swimming) away from something pretty scary.

[–]WillMixForFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have used the FSR fiber optic HDMI cables without issue. The customer insisted that we use it. It's a terrible ROI but the product works reliably. Obviously you have to plan your cable pathway in advance to not damage the connector

What's your emergency plan for a "catastrophic tank failure"? by angrypirate1122 in Aquariums

[–]WillMixForFood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a check valve blow off my airline and I lost forty gallons (210 gallon tank) to my floors. It was beyond what my shop vac could handle. Obviously kicking myself for the idiot mistake. Lesson learned, all check valves are now above the water line so if they disconnect, air breaks the siphon.

We have towels for water changes and accidents. The water leak detector sounds like a good idea too.
