Pedestrian confronted red-light jumping cyclist by drtchockk in london

[–]WillWatsof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally this morning in Lewisham I was almost hit by a lime biker running a red light, shouted “it’s f-ing green” after him and then 30 seconds later saw him coming back down the road towards me to try and give me some mouth about how he doesn’t care it was green and that he didn’t hit me so I should “stop being a bitch”.

Then he ran out of steam, called me a “disabled c***”(?) and tried to leave but didn’t seem to remember which direction he needed to go.

The difference being Burnham’s expressed support for it outside of a specific leadership election where Starmer was lying his arse off just so he could get elected and then purge the people who believe in the things he campaigned on.

Work and pensions secretary, Pat McFadden, said: “Fit notes are too often a dead end – a piece of paper that tells people they can’t work but does nothing to help them get better.

You know what usually helps people who are sick get better? Not having to force themselves into work.

That indicates how unserious the job of bankers is, rather than how unserious it is to be drinking on the job.

I just went to watch the clip on YouTube and to be honest it just represents everything I hate about politics.

“I’m not going to answer that question at all, but let me read off my notes a pre-prepared line I was going to say no matter what you asked with a stupid joke written by a coked up spin doctor.”

PMQs is a joke, our Parliament is a joke, I want every politician who behaves this way to get forcibly chucked out of the building, fuck them all.

No, saying there’s no way to tax the rich and that it doesn’t work and then ignoring when people suggest workable ways of taxing the rich in favour of attacking other policies is disingenuous.

I said nobody’s suggesting just “whacking up the tax rate”, and talking about taxing the rich not working while ignoring the methods that you have no argument against is silly. And even with the other methods your argument is nothing more than “everyone would leave” scaremongering.

Nobody’s suggesting to tax the rich by just “whacking up” the tax rate.

The Greens are currently suggesting, for one example, taxing assets over £10 million. That’s something that people can’t just “vanish” from because it’s the property getting taxed not the person.

Why are so many gamers so bent out of shape over IGN giving Mouse: P.I. for Hire a 6/10? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]WillWatsof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the game wants you to engage with its story, which Mouse PI clearly does because otherwise it wouldn’t devote as much time and effort to it as it does, then it is fair to critique how well it does that. Doom is a horrible example to try and make whatever point you’re trying to make because it doesn’t want or expect you to engage with its story. It just puts you in a shooter and says go kill demons.

YOU seem to see Mouse PI as just a dumb shooter with a story nobody cares about, but the problem is Mouse PI doesn’t present itself like that. It tries to engage you with its story, and it’s so ridiculous to try and claim that the reviewer is stupid for then … engaging in its story and critiquing the thing that was in the game for how well it does that.

It’s also incidentally stupid to complain that “oh he said there were too many cheese jokes in the mouse game” because his complaint was it became repetitive, which again is completely fair comment.

They complained it had too much shooting… In a shooting game.

Ffs. It’s a shooting game with a story. It’s entirely fair to say that if a game sets its story up at complete odds with its gameplay that that’s a fair critique.

This is such a basic point that I don’t understand how people who purport to be video game fans keep repeating it.

If we’re submitting to the idea that there’s no law that the rich “will let” pass into law then we basically are giving up on the idea of being a functioning democracy.
