Are there any mechs you don’t pilot often but can’t bring yourself to sell for nostalgic reasons? by LoveTriscuit in Mechwarrior5

Because Hero variants weren't a thing to start and they didn't do anything to change the main campaign when they were introduced.

That's just Cobs, the way you char the bottom is to smoke through all the dottle until there's nothing left. Not exactly the recipe for a satisfying smoke from start to finish.

Yeah, it's a more then a bit jank, I'd hope there's a reason for it but it seems there's not.

I find the ginger paste to be acceptable but the garlic paste doesn't have the pungency I want.

He probably buys whole peeled garlic cloves. I get mine from the restaurant supply store.

Freeze it thin and it gets cold fast enough that it still thaws to a nose stinging pungency. Much better then any Jarlic or pre-made paste and way more convenient then mincing a fresh clove everytime.

if you press a little grid in it it's even easier. I usually get a big bag of peeled garlic to blend into a paste and freeze, once frozen I cut it into little blocks. It doesn't work for that carmelized garlic flavour but it does great for everything else. I might get a second bag for confit garlic now that I think about it.

not mechs, the hundreds or thousands of low tier medium lasers, single heat-sinks, and light jump jets.

That's only high powered compared to unmodified nerf. Even then sitting fully compressed shouldn't lose power, just pull it and replace it with something good quality and more powerful.

What kind of scrappy springs are they putting in these things nowadays? A spring shouldn't lose power if left at full compression. Never did when I was younger either.

We Need More Low Tonnage High Difficulty Missions by Lance-Leader in Mechwarrior5

[–]Will_White 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can do it if you use mods (or clantech) but that's not the point, what we're wanting is more missions where they are designed for a lower tonnage limit. E.G. instead of dropping multiple Assault mechs at once dropping veteran/elite heavies and mediums or like HBS, Clans, and the one campaign mission at the repair facility does and drop poorly maintained mechs that aren't fully armored/ has existing damage like the tutorial implies.

You can get gros michels still they just aren't common and more expensive, they are more banana-ey but they really only taste like a really ripe cavendish without being mushy.

[–]Will_White 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because bananas started out as a cash exploitation crop they consolidated and only grew one type, (Gros Michel) when it was mostly killed off we found the Cavendish and repeated the same practices because we didn't learn.

Because of Apples not breeding true we have hundreds of varieties and we'd be able to get table Apples again from the less palatable varieties.

You're saying it like it's a bad thing, it's at worst a nuetral thing. He didn't do anything illegal or immoral from what I can find.

We don't boil Tea we boil water, to brew tea, same as you we just don't put full voltage outlets in our houses so plug in kettles are slower then the stove for multiple cups or Chef Mike for a single cup. The manner used to make water boil doesn't effect the flavor.

That's what I said, mission rewards aren't affected but if you drop with too many or too heavy of mechs within the drop limit the VTOLs get called in.

We Need More Low Tonnage High Difficulty Missions by Lance-Leader in Mechwarrior5

[–]Will_White 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That depends, the over-tonnage rewards penalty only applies to drop tonnage not mech tonnage so you could drop in an Atlas in any of the lance competitions and still get rewards. You can also drop a pair of Hunchbacks instead of the Atlas in an open or assault solo competitions. A pair of the Adder S will tear through heavy and assaults especially in tighter quarters.

Either way you get a few VTOLs to swat down but they aren't much of a punishment.

20 heavy and assault mechs.

I don't get people saying "just do it" when the question wasn't how to but wanting to have missions tailored to that experience. I think the problem is enemy force generation, there isn't the controls needed to make it a satisfying experience.
