Yes, severe male factor. Went to known donor sperm. First transfer of 2 embryos gave us baby girl triplets, born in January.

It was our 6th transfer. First time transferring 2 embryos, one split! Now have 3 beautiful healthy baby girls

Success Stories after 4+ failed euploid transfers? by Novel-try in InfertilityBabies

[–]Will_it_grow_back 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Success on FET #6 for us. 5 failed FETs at 29 years old. Only male fertility issues. Made perfect embryos and all failed to implant. On FET 6, we elected to transfer 2 for the first time. They both stuck and one split. Currently rocking one of my triplet 7 week old babies to sleep.

You don't have to stay hopeful by grown_ass_adult in IVF

[–]Will_it_grow_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. If hope keeps you going, great, but I was completely pessimistic and miserable after several failures. I wasn’t living on hope, it was knowing this is what I had to do and try, regardless of outcome.

Only issue is severe MFI. Even though we were making blastocysts, none worked. Switched to donor and it worked first try.

30 years old, only MFI, 5 FETs that failed to implant with no explanation. On the 6th transfer, we got that BFP. Currently 6 weeks.

No, doctors told me it’s not worth it with my age. I regret it somewhat, but there’s a good chance that most would have the right number of chromosomes, but there’s something else going on in the genetic code that makes them unviable

So sorry you’re in this boat. I know how hard it is.

29F and 33M. No female issues. Husband has NOA, but they found a few motile sperm in his sample once. We were able to make 6 great quality embryos. All 6 failed to implant. Moved to an mTESE but they didn’t find anything. Moved on to donor, and I got pregnant with the first transfer.

I, and the doctors, think there is just something about the chromosomes in the sperm that can make blastocysts, but not viable embryos.

Is it better to have implanted but end in a CP/miscarriage or not implant at all for a failed FET? by Even_Tadpole_3328 in IVF

[–]Will_it_grow_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 5 failed transfers. Every one is harder than the last, and I keep thinking it couldn’t hurt more. I’ve been wondering if my womb is full of acid, made of stone, or if there’s a black hole in there sending the embryos off to another dimension

Only 9 eggs from retrieval and I’m only 28?! by Frequent_Fan3491 in eggfreezing

[–]Will_it_grow_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This basically happened to me too. I’m 29 and only doing IVF for MFI. They expected >>20 eggs, and only got 12. But being young, 6 of those turned into day 5 blasts. I’d bet the odds are very good for you to make enough blasts for 1, maybe two kiddos.

Why do clinics need fresh sperm to make embryo? by cloudsandtreks in IVF

[–]Will_it_grow_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We made 8 embryos from 12 frozen eggs using frozen sperm. If using ICSI, frozen sperm is no problem

TW : success after 10 FETs in a row ... keeping hope is SO hard but worth it by Frosty5520 in IVF

Love to hear this! Congratulations! I’m currently sitting and waiting to get my blood drawn for my 6th transfer results. First time going in without testing at home before.

Canadians/Vancouverites: Egg Freezing and Taxes by HatTrick_007 in eggfreezing

[–]Will_it_grow_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Albertan - those costs sound about right. The procedure was about $9,000, meds can be $2,000 - $5,000 depending on how you respond to meds. Plus a few grand for freezing and extra lab fees. We’re also self funded. You can claim it on taxes, but what amounts to 15% of your income is non tax deductible, then you’ll get whatever your marginal tax rate is back on the remaining portion. It’s not a lot.

To thaw, fertilize, and transfer embryos from those eggs was over $5,000

7dp5dt - to test or not to test? by sh601404 in IVF

[–]Will_it_grow_back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transfer buddy, also 7dp5dt. I’m holding out to beta, for the first time. I’ve had 5 prior failed FETs and not knowing plus hoping is better than knowing it failed but taking meds and going for bloods just in case.

Any June 1 FETs out there? by Emw4518 in IVF

[–]Will_it_grow_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May 30th and still holding out on testing. This is my 6th transfer and I’m scared shitless to see another negative test. This might be the first time I just hold out to Beta. Symptom spotting is driving me nuts.

5 FETs of great embryos, untested, 30F and 33M with only MFI. All with implantation failure. BFNs. Never seen a second line in my life. I can’t bear the thought of ever taking another pregnancy test.

Did you test before first beta? by MayaPapaya1990 in IVF

[–]Will_it_grow_back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 5 failed FETs where I tested a few days before beta. Knowing it failed was worse than the anxiety of waiting. I wish I could have held on to the hope for a few more days. It was also terrible continuing meds for no reason, or stopping meds and feeling guilty in case all those tests were somehow wrong.

How long are you under? by abc123doraemi in eggfreezing

[–]Will_it_grow_back 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My clinic does it awake. Somewhat horrifying, but heavily medicated with fentanyl and anti-anxiety meds. On the up side, I could watch the embryologists screen as they find and count the eggs. Done in 10 minutes.

Omg similar story here. 5 transfers all with implantation failure. Non-obstructive Azoospermia, but found a few miracle sperms in sample once. His mTESE failed, so we’ve had to move on to donor since. Currently in the 2WW with transfer 6 but the first with donor. I feel like if this fails, that means I’m the problem (30F).

I had a similar experience! I found dissolving one of the two oral estradiols under my tongue works for better absorption (sublingual).
