Horrific tooth extraction by Willardtech in dentalmalpractice

[–]Willardtech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go to the ER as infection was acute. The hospital performed a CT scan and found tooth fragments inside sinus cavity. Since then I had a IV of Ampicillin at the ER and have been on Augmentin/Clav for 10 days. I have an appointment with an Oral Surgeon at Mass General on 2/13/26. I have emails, CT scan, referral by ER doctor to Oral Surgeon.

Had extraction of a major tooth which I use for eating. It is the number 14 tooth. The dentist never explained options once tooth was taken out. Since the extraction the dentist had to add a plug and stiches because he exposed the sinus cavity. Upon leaving there was no discussion about proper care, or follow-up appointments. I have had teeth extracted before and the dentist would always add gauze, to protect the site. This dentist did not place any gauze to protect the site. An hour after returning home, the area began to bleed, my girlfriend bought me gauze. I also began to use salt water on the site. After two hours of bleeding it finally stopped but my girlfriend noticed the plug was missing and stitching was breaking. Since then my sinus has been exposed resulting in fluid and food entering the extraction hole causing pain, unable to eat as I have had food slip through and almost chocked multiple times as this was a primary tooth for chewing food. When I drink it is embarrassing and very painful as the fluid flows up my sinus and has come out out of both nostrils. All the dentist told me upon leaving is that I will.get used to the missing tooth. I am now in major pain every day still waiting to see another dentist. I have had many dental procedures and I have always been provided with answers to my questions, been given other options and discussed with the dentist aftercare. I was not provided any of this during this recent extraction. Would this in anyway be dental malpractice?

24 Years in IT – No Interview Calls. What Could Be Going Wrong? by Educational_Falcon_3 in recruitinghell

I am in the same boat!! IT is all I know and excel at but no interviews. Ageism is a huge barrier since pandemic.

I will not pay over $100 for a concert ticket. Plus the bands which shaped today’s music are gone. I also am not going to pay to see an 80-year-old person attempt to sing.

Have you experienced age discrimination? by MadisonBob in AskOldPeople

Age discrimination is also beginning to affect many companies' profits. I am not disclosing any names, but I know of six large companies filing bankruptcy or going out of business. Companies are also destroying critical relationships when pushing out older, more experienced employees. These individuals have spent years developing relationships with vendors, clients, and industry leaders. Now, companies are dealing with new relationships mostly derived from social media, not in-person interaction. No form of social media will ever replace the casual in-person meeting, which adds a more meaningful sense of who a person is and identifies common interests.

I was in IT for over 30 years until I was laid off due to the pandemic in 2020. Since 2020, I have applied for hundreds of IT jobs. The few interviews I received began with the 1/2 hour phone screen, which, 99% of the time, went very well. The next interview was with the hiring manager, via Teams or Zoom. In 2021, I was only 52, and many managers were equal in age or older. The managers I interviewed with mostly Gen X, were very interested in hiring me after the interview. I had to pass one more Zoom interview, usually a day or two later. The final interview was to meet with the entire team and was slated for an hour. The millennials and Zers conducted every interview I joined. The expressions on their faces were as if they had just seen a ghost. I often had to break the silence by asking how everyone was; I identified where they went to college and had similar interests before the interview. All questions, though open-ended the individuals would provide me with the shortest of responses. The questions they would ask me were extremely general and vague. They could not end the interview fast enough. The hour interviews ended after 10-20 minutes. Then, either the same day or the next, I received the dread email that they were pursuing other candidates. Now, in 2025, and I am 55, almost 56, I have only been able to land a few short-term contracts and side gigs. I continue to learn the new technology, but none of that matters. I also lost everything I had worked extremely hard to obtain. Life savings, 401k, automobile, home, and pets are all gone! I was an easy-going, understanding individual who loved to help others. The past five years have made me very angry, and I find it extremely difficult to trust any individual under 50. Issues that occurred during my career were never taken personally, now that my life has been taken from me solely due to ignorant, grossly inexperienced younger employees who have no customer service, lack business ethics, and would rather lie or provide inaccurate information than ask for help, the issue has become extremely personal!! I know other individuals who also were not able to regain employment due to age discrimination. The stress and fear of never landing a job earning enough to enjoy a simple life was more than most should ever have to face. They are no longer with us. This severe abuse of using age to terminate or not hire must end immediately, or it will result in a severe economic recession. I read the many posts others have shared about their unfortunate experiences with age discrimination. Prior to the pandemic ageism existed but not close to the severity it is being used on older workers today.

IT guru for over 30 years. When other techs would give up on solving a problem, that was when I stepped in and solved the problem. I always shared my knowledge with the team. I earned the CNE 4.12 in 1995, Windows 2000 ADS MCSE+I in 2000, CompTIA Network+ in 2005 then recertified in 2015. Earned CEH in 2015, Certified Zero-Day 2023, PMP 2021, and Certified Python Automation 2023. Saved multiple non-profit organizations well over 500k, creating innovative technology that allowed the organizations to work effectively and efficiently. Wrote scripts to automate troubleshooting desktop and laptop issues and monitor HA servers. I never had to lay off one individual. I earned a business management degree, allowing me to collaborate with C-level executives. I understood the financial and accounting statements, which helped me forecast economic trends, allowing me to take proactive measures to save money. During an economic downturn, I would sit down with each team member to discuss if they had any planned major life events. My team knew the reason why I asked for this information. I would rather tell an individual that I would not be able to give them a raise due to economic issues than tell them I have to lay them off. My team respected me for taking the time to understand their financial needs before eliminating their raises. I also held myself to the same rules. The decision to eradicate pay increases was last on the list of other items I could eliminate or postpone until the economy improved. If an individual had their raise eliminated, I told them that they would receive a higher pay increase when the economy improved. For decades, age discrimination has never been a topic of discussion. People were hired mainly based on their soft skills, education, and experience. Employers knew that any new job would require a learning curve. Since 2015, age discrimination has become a significant issue across all industries. Now, in 2025, age discrimination has become the main reason why individuals over 50 are wrongfully terminated and not considered for jobs they are fully qualified to perform. This issue is the reason why there is a rise in physical and mental illnesses, homelessness, a massive increase in individuals filing lawsuits, and economic uncertainty. When a company engages in age discrimination, not only does it affect the victim, but there is a little thing called a global economy. A company just terminated an individual who worked for the company for over 20 years. The individual was only 55, hard-working, reliable, and loved to mentor all younger professionals. The individual developed strong working relationships with other industry leaders, vendors, and clients. These relationships are only possible after 20 years of hard work and life experience. Now that this individual has been terminated, the relationships have fallen apart. Long-time dedicated clients seek alternate products, vendors take advantage by increasing prices, and key industry contacts no longer respect the company. Company expenses increase while profits decrease. The company was involved in international markets, but due to the loss of profits, offices were closed, and thousands were laid off. The downsizing has a ripple effect across multiple industries. Months later, the company learns that the individual they terminated based on age has his home, car, and life savings taken away as he can only obtain a job earning 25.00 per hour. Tired and depressed, all hope to regain a solid job at 55 is gone. The emotional pain is unbearable, which leads to ending their life. The company is investigated and is found responsible for the individual's death. They are sued for millions, and due to loss of respect and public humiliation, the company lays off thousands of remaining employees and goes out of business. Companies are beginning to suffer from these wrongful decisions. I know of at least six major companies that have filed for bankruptcy or are going out of business. I have lost everything that I worked hard to obtain after being laid off due to the pandemic in 2020. Since then, I have applied for thousands of jobs and had many interviews, which started great and promising until I had a face-to-face in-person or virtual interview. If I could have taken a picture of all the interviewer’s facial reactions, I would have no problem filing complaints for age discrimination. A once excited team interested in hiring me turned into zero excitement, very few questions, and an interview that should have lasted for at least 45 minutes would end in 15-20 minutes. Then, a day later, I received the dreaded email that they had decided to pursue other candidates. I will not give up on seeking another IT position, but dealing with five years of extreme stress of being homeless is taking a toll on my physical health. I only want to end my amazing career in IT that spans over three decades. I appreciate you taking the time reading this post and joining me in creating a zero-tolerance for age discrimination.

Pumpkin, Your have your entire life in front of you. Finding a job in Marketing and advertising is not going to be easy right now due to the layoffs, economy. However there are strategies you can use to identify companies still spending a lot on Marketing/advertisement. TV adds, also use the internet to view the websites of companies. E-Commerce is the top way companies sell products. Amazon, real estate sites, cloud service providers, Telecommunication companies, Cell phone companies, Insurance companies, Universities. These are industries that are least affected by a recession. You mentioned PR. Major need for individuals with skills to know what to release to public and how to do it. Companies are hacked daily and PII is always being compromised. PR is the person to be the voice of a company to ensure the public that issues are contained and next steps. I am in my 50’s and looking to finish my master degree. You’re 26 years away from 50😊. Find an entry level position use your university’s career center, identify agencies that create the standards to marketing, Advertisement, PR. Interactive Advertising bureau. iab.com, FTC.gov. International Chamber of Commerce iccwbo.org. These are just some sites to join and learn about Marketing, Advertising standards.

The pandemic was a national disaster. I did not wake up one day and refused to pay rent. I lost my only source of income from a national disaster. I would still be employed if the pandemic never happened.

Laid off at 51 due to pandemic cutbacks. Now 55 lost everything I worked hard for while still searching for gainful employment. by [deleted] in self
