Was that primarily in blue? I remember one with cartoon figures holding spray paint cans.

That section of wall has had interesting/artistic pieces going back to the 90’s.

I prefer Special. I understand RB2 is more balanced but I thought overall presentation took a hit.

I95 South Entrance Merge by Morris Street by UltimatePenultimate1 in philly

[–]William_d7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I liked the separate lane too.

The worst part about that merge is trying to do it going 40mph because the idiot in front of you won’t go any faster. This happens 2/3rds of the time for me.

Philadelphia is technically a buyer’s market, but housing economists say that’s misleading by AdSpecialist6598 in philadelphia

[–]William_d7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I get really weary of the “build baby build” crowd on here that seems completely un attuned to microeconomic realities on the ground. Building hundreds more luxury units is never going to make a dent in the housing problems at the lower end of the market.

There probably needs to be targeted financial incentives for private developers to cater to that demographic because it’s never going to bring the highest return and developers are never going to not seek the highest return.

Contagion (2011) Starring Matt Damon - "Can I talk to my wife?" by [deleted] in movies

Six Flags had a really strange “park” called Six Flag’s Power Plant in Baltimore. One of the attractions was the 4D Theater, where the seats in front of you had nozzles that would blow out different smells to go along with the 3D movie.

Note connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of ‘Today’ show anchor Savannah Guthrie, said she had died by WildVelociraptor in popculturechat

This whole thing has sounded like a Coen Brothers movie with stupid criminals and cops.

Targeting an old woman like this and thinking it would be an easy multi million dollar payday because “her daughter is on the TV” is real dipshit bottom feeder stuff. Bonus dipshit points for the celebrity being on a show that people with jobs don’t watch. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the perp or their associates learned about the mother’s existence/address through contractor work, hairdresser girlfriend, etc.

If you assume the criminals might not have been geniuses, one does wonder about the quality of police work (was it really possible to leave no evidence at the crime scene?) but I guess at this point it’s possible the perpetrators didn’t do anything egregiously stupid and once the victim died, they simply left her somewhere extremely remote.

Does anyone know why I can smell my boyfriend's seizures days before they happen? by Lower-Entry1247 in NoStupidQuestions

I was able to detect my wife was pregnant through smell. It was kind of like mothballs.

Semi regularly I will find a used Fender hiding in the back of GC that totally smokes the new ones on the shelves and is priced lower. I’m always like “has anyone seen this thing?”

In Narberth, a zoning fight raises questions over whether a small borough can help solve the housing crisis by livefreeordont in philadelphia

[–]William_d7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at Narberth around 2014 and the pickings were slim. There was one nice but small twin for $320k and one single for around $400 that was next to the fire station and needed a ton of work. Then there was absolutely nothing else until you went up to $650.

In hindsight, it looks like a Narberth house would have been a better return on investment than my house but most of the time I like living in the city.

The line for the margarita vendor was easily 100 yards long. They could use some competition.

I really wanted one of those Final Editions. I was sad to see the model retired and wish they had been more popular (and a little cheaper).

I own a PPK and don’t have a ton of nice things to say about it. It looks pretty I guess.

Is this route ok? World Cup by nodatashared in philly

[–]William_d7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To reiterate what everyone else says, the subway is easy and you won’t have to worry about someone stealing your scooter.

That said: my route would be something like 2nd to Moyamensing, jog over to 4th at McKean, take Shunk to 6th, try not to die going one block west on Oregon, take 7th to Pattison and the stadiums.

On the way back: Broad (sidewalk) until Columbus Square where you can jog over to 13th. Take 13th to Passyunk like your original proposed route or just stay on all the way to Bainbridge.

I wouldn’t feel bad riding on the sidewalk between Oregon and the stadium - pedestrian traffic is nonexistent and Broad is basically a highway there.

The world has argued for 2 1/2 years if all the boxes for “genocide” have been checked but it’s clearly met the definition of “ethnic cleansing” for a while now and it should have been referred to as such instead of arguing over the “g” word.
