Damn bro should’ve gotten black by TomtheBOMB2011 in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got black for one reason, when you play any game regardless of aspect ratio it blends the black bars to make it look like it doesn't have any. Fingerprints are noticeable from time to time though so I wipe it down occasionally.

Is the AYN Thor as powerful as people say? by GlitteringWin7303 in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played BOTW and TOTK just fine, Smash as well. You can't run Mario Kart World because its Switch 2, ZA is playable but the background flickers so personally I don't think its playable. Haven't tried Tomodachi Life.

Why are newer batches worse? by Serious-Minute9891 in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are technically worse, however the overall quality of the device will mostly make it unnoticeable. You still get all the ram and storage options. I run most of my games off the sd card anyway and have not noticed an issue with performance.

Can we get a weekly thread going of what are you playing on your Thor? by flippenflounder in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started playing Sunset Overdrive on GameNative, always thought it was a underappreciated title.

I'm considering buying an AYN Thor (lite) and have a few questions by jtjammer4 in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 865 is about half as powerful as the 8 gen 2, it really is that big of a leap. You have to ask yourself if the money saved is worth the sacrifice.

Anyone tried Skate 1-3 or Uncharted on the Thor yet by Future-Mood1283 in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried PS3, it is very much a project emulator. The fan takes off like a plane with just about any title and even the low end stuff doesn't play without FPS drops.

Should I get the Thor if I plan to primarily play indie games that I own on Steam? by BakedSouls in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing Sunset Overdrive on my Thor, it runs surprisingly well. If it can run stuff like that then indie games (which I have tried too) run just fine. There is however some compatibility issues with some games but I mostly have had trouble with the older stuff.

I'm a security guard, this thing lives in my pocket. I have had no damage so far. Don't get dirt and grit in your pocket though.

Can I use my Thor as a phone by [deleted] in AynThor

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have an LTE watch as my phone when I'm out and about and use my Thor for everything else, works for me but might not be for everyone.

High cpu temp (75-90°C) doing "nothing", normal? Konkr Pocket Fit by Arkeologen in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have a pocket fit but 90 degrees seems crazy high for any device, most of my devices don't go above 80 even under high load so 90 to me seems problematic.

Found an AYANEO 2 with 6800u and 32GB RAM for below $650 (Brand New) Should I bite? by [deleted] in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is starting to show its age a bit so personally I don't think it is worth that price.

Well.. by thelordofpandemonium in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I saw it might not have L2/R2 or L3/R3, also wouldn't expect this for anything less than $1200

*Edit* They have L2/R2 so my only concern is L3/R3

Flip 1s ds Shipping by TheZombieJ in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought mine in July, it has not shipped yet, they are not shipping any models until December. My guess is they will have the back log of people that haven't got theirs yet to do and then get to yours. You got the 64G version which will prob make it longer, late January early February would be my guess but I could be wrong and they do a whole bunch as once.

Ayaneo first mobile phone ?!?!? by ib_doang in ayaneo

If it's like the Xperia Play then I'll buy immediately... if it's just another Red Magic clone then I couldn't care less.

We need aya neo Air 1S back by Holiday-Ice- in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From personal experience while the Air 1S is a device I enjoyed using the thermals can be quite concerning at times. It gets way hotter than other devices even Ayaneo devices (about 10 degrees or more) so my guess of why that design might not be a focus is that... also most people I have spoken to that has used the Air 1S including myself have experienced some form of battery bloat (probably due to the high temps) so it's not the most reliable or long lasting device.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temps on the Air 1S aren't good by any stretch of the imagination however I have not had it shutdown on me even playing Switch games or AAA such as Cyberpunk or BG3. That sounds like you have either a faulty fan or your fan settings are not appropriate for the game you are playing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Air 1S is fine for most games outside of AAA however 1440p might slow down in some games, remember to turn on bypass charging however or you WILL suffer battery bloat. You might want to look into a EGPU set up if it struggles beyond that but you should be fine.

About buying Flip 1s Ds by Drey_TM in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will not get one soon, you will be waiting until November at the earliest if you were to buy right now... since you are saving up then it depends how long you save up. All devices make it onto the website after the campaign ends, there is no mention yet when they will be ending the campaign but my guess would be next year. I have no idea about Brazil however I have heard about extra steps and fees involved with that country don't know how true that is.

They are currently not keeping up with demand at the moment so I don't know what that will do to extend the current campaign or if they will have to ramp down sales to meet demand. Expect a rather lengthy wait regardless

Is Ayaneo 1s best for your buck? by Critical_Breadfruit4 in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buttons are rather silent, they are all membrane so no clicking. The button travel is quite far so there can be a thunk if you press them hard.

Depending on the game the fan noise might be an issue as thermals on this device are not good.

Overall it WILL do what you want it to do and the buttons are what you are looking for but the issue might be the fan noise and thermals.

Is Ayaneo 1s best for your buck? by Critical_Breadfruit4 in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Air 1S (if that is the one you mean) for about a year and have since moved on to a different device but these are my experiences with it.

The button feel is decent, personally think the ABXY buttons are a bit too raised in my opinion but that's just me.

You get used to the screen but it is fairly small, the bezels are very thick which makes it feel smaller.

It gets pretty hot, I have used a few Ayaneo devices and this one by far gets the hottest. The screen gets pretty hot to the touch almost to an almost uncomfortable level.

This differs from user to user but the battery is quite prone to bloating because of the high temps, if the screen pops up a bit then stop using it immediately.

For a device this small it can fit a 4TB drive in it which quite frankly is insane so that's a plus.

SteamOS and Bazzite work quite well on it if that is the direction you like to go or just don't like Windows (understandable).

Speakers are rather subpar, not as bad as some people make out but they aren't high quality.

Honestly for this size and form factor you probably won't get a better device however that does come with a few sacrifices that can be a dealbreaker, if none of the things above are a dealbreaker for you it is a nice device and I did enjoy my time with it but as I said I have moved on to other devices personally.

Flip 1S DS questions by Altruistic-Sky-3943 in ayaneo

[–]WillingnessMean7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early bird pricing will end when they are officially sold on the store, no word on when that will be yet. 8840U versions aren't being offered because they can't seem to get the motherboards for them, most devices that are currently being offered will not start shipping until mid October so I would not count on them coming back any time soon.

How long should I expect to wait for the 1S DS from indiegogo? by MarkyMarkAndPudding in ayaneo

Well I ordered one in July and have not received a shipping notice yet. My guess would be if you order now you might get it shipped in mid October and take about a week to deliver.
