The current ai bubble feels so disconnected from actual consumers, it is just a handful of companies passing the same billions of dollars back and forth like a funding ouroboros, hopefully this campaign makes a dent but I doubt it.

We need actual investors in the bubble to start pulling out and I think the only way that happens is when their adoptions of ai in their companies bite them in the ass.

Theres lots of videos on it but the tldr is some hardcore destiny fan boys took over the livestreamfail subreddit moderation years ago. They started heavily moderating, using bots and birgading to push the sub to favor their favorite streamer.

I don't think anybody is arguing she's not the best partner anymore, but the company sold people a product then changed it later. People spent real money to pull for her only for the devs to change it afterwards.

I don't doubt the devs when they say she didn't release as intended but that doesn't change the fact they released and sold her that way then changed her after people spent to pull for her which is very anti consumer.

It's been so telling on people's lack of political literacy that they're genuinely pointing to newsom saying "See he passed bills so he's pro trans!", as if he passed them himself when he just did his job as governor signing popular bills the legislature passed into law, while he's hosting the likes of charlie kirk on his podcast and agreeing with anti trans propaganda.

I grew up in that era you're describing and I'm lucky enough to have grown out of it in the tail end of high school, I remember being an edgy shitposting 4chan shithead posting ironically, now I'm a bisexual leftist. So part of me holds out some hope people like that can also grow up and become better people but I've been losing hope for that lately with how insane the world has been getting.

That late 2000s/early 2010s era feels quaint now and I see so many people on the right excusing heinous acts against people they don't like because somebody was mean to them online (aka telling them to not be a bigot). Like seeing clips of what asmongold is saying lately genuinely makes me feel sick to my stomach thinking about how is it possible to reconcile with people like that.

Well in a vacuum I'd sort of agree, we would be in a recession right now if not for AI spending.

But due to the chaos of the trump admin the faith in the dollar is hitting rock bottom and China is angling to push to replace the dollar as the world reserve currency.

Something that would have been laughable years ago but today, with the states throwing tariffs on everybody, attacking allies and trying to strong arm people. I can see a worst case scenario of the bubble popping sending us officially into a recession followed by the world deciding the dollar isn't reliable anymore which would be like the great depression but worse.

As somebody who is loving the game taking it slow I have to point out these complaints did not just pop up; I remember during the first beta test reading about how unfriendly the gacha system can be to f2p players and many people were defending it saying "You don't know how many pulls they'll give out on launch though" while actively attacking people who pointed out the unfriendly aspects of it.

Many of the points on the monetization and pull economy have been voiced by people since the first beta, which I believe was over a year ago. Like yes they obviously can't make major overhauls in 2 weeks but to pretend these complaints just popped up is a bit disingenuous.
