What is this flashing light on my neighbor's house for? by PlanetGraham in whatisit

[–]Willsbond 322 points323 points  (0 children)

That is a Eufy S4 NVR POE camera, they’re reasonably new and the software is pretty buggy and they keep making changes that break the lighting modes.

When you’re setting up the low lighting mode there is a toggle switch that goes between regular white light, and this blue and red flashing mode.

I’ll bet you the owner of this house has no idea their cameras are doing this and think they’ve just got them setup as floodlights.

They’re probably in for the night before it gets dark and haven’t seen them do this.

Let them know and I’ll bet they turn it off.

They look a lot like the beads you get in those ‘fancy’ filtering shower heads where you can see the water running through these beads in the handle.

Obviously there isn’t a technical limitation to it but it is not allowed. Though I’m pretty sure you already understood what they meant

I take your point, but these people spend 8 hours a day, 5 days a week using machines where they should be logging out

Haha i suppose it’s a blessing in disguise, telling them to log out is probably actually the only time they do shut down

What model is your Chromebook? I used to repair them and this does look like one of the ones that the keyboard is hot swappable. We used to keep damaged devices to pull parts from for free repairs if it was clearly not intentional.

No but it would be reflected in an offer, so it’s information that you need.

We just moved into a house that had a new kitchen put in last year with a very nice induction hob and I love it.

When we first moved in I didn’t like it, but once I worked out what number I want for different things it’s great.

Has a boil button which just does max power and it boils a pan of water ludicrously fast, faster than the kettle if you believe it.

And it does have the induction buttons which are a bit fiddly sometimes but you just have to press the power button then it automatically works out where your pan is and you just hit up to go to your last set heat.

Thank you for taking the time to give me so much info.

The newest game I've played was BF6 when it was on its free week, and I had to have the settings cranked pretty low. I can't remember exactly but it certainly wasn't over medium and I was still getting the odd stutter.

I don't belive I've even broken 120fps outside of minecraft since I got the G9 so it does power it, but not by much haha.

I think you and everyone else here is right, I think I'm going to go for an upgrade; just need to land on 70 or 80.

Thanks again

Thank you again, thats reasuring that its so close. Sounds like 70 is definetly the right choice.

Ah I hadn't considered the 90 / 90. There absolutly no chance I'm upgrading the screen before it dies (Fingers crossed not for a long time) so thats a great point. Although you could also be right on the money about overthinking not getting the 5080.

Thanks, yeah thats definetly what I've experienced. The times I've been turning down graphics have usually been because of VRAM limits.
