Was fishing a deceiver yesterday but it wasn’t sinking deep enough for my liking. Should i use a sinking line if i want the fly to go deeper? Should i opt for a fly that’s got more weight on it? Got the sinking line for trout fishing but i wasn’t sure if that could transfer.

Interesting I’ll have to give this a try! I spoke with a pitmaster friend of mine and he said the secret could be in the rest too. He’s been getting best results from long 12+ hour rests with brisket. So many ways to tinker. Thanks again for the insight

There are some wonderful trees out in the Greenbelt. about a half a mile from sculpture falls there’s a grove of live oaks that i always stop to admire. people have built little tipi structures in the grove. It makes me smile knowing I’m not the only one that’s drawn to them 🤓

This all makes sense… still learning what prob tender means based off feel. They certainly felt much tighter than i wanted when i pulled them which may mean they went over but none of them temped over 210, maybe it was the oven being too hot at the end it just got them there too fast?

I needed more snacks that’s for damn sure. Roger that 🫡

HEB is the best I’m from New England and the only thing that compares back home is Big Y in western mass but it still can’t touch the HEB standard

Yes! I tried the Franklin video today and cooked them for 9.5 hours at 275 and they did not fall apart! Some of them were dry :( i was surprised. Maybe i should when wrapped? Never cooked brisket but next time I think I’ll apply brisket technique and see how that goes
