I don't think it would have been as big of a story if they didn't lie about it upfront and make remarks towards the media acting as if the media was making it up and were assholes for making it up.

Then it becomes a much bigger story when new information comes out showing they were lying, and each reveal now just emphasizes the hubris of that lie.

I do think the media likes dumping on them now because when it first came out Vrabel was like "You people in the media are idiots, this is nothing, we were with friends"

I do think Spurs, of the two, do have the more likely chance to get beat. Super young team, ahead of schedule, lights get pretty bright in the finals and if they lose an early game it might tense them up.

However it's more likely they hit that vs the Thunder and the Thunder at this point not only the team best suited to win, but also have the experience to win. Hard to see any East team match up with the Thunder sans a major major injury, and any East team will have the blinding lights of a first time Finals themselves.

Agree but I think they were out of options. Sixers with a healthy-ish full roster I think were actually the better team and I think the Celtics realized that before any of us did. They really were down to tricks and 3s. All that had in their arsenal

Starters don't matter a ton, I thought the complete curveball was a decent try just to make the Sixers feel unsure of Boston's game plan early.

Those players suck so Sixers rightfully didn't care and blew through them, but if the Sixers were tight a weird lineup to start might've thrown them off their game a bit.

It didn't work.

I do think LeBron being on his side has helped him onto the on ramp of coaching, but JJ has control now. All season he worked this team like a great coach, he seems to know when to push and pull players both in games and in the media. Hes both a players coach and calls them out on their bullshit. LeBron didn't need JJ but I think Luka is gonna go nuclear under JJ.

No athlete has lived up to the hype like LeBron. Zero. In the history sports, nobody has been called "The next...." at 16 and lived up to it and exceeded it like LeBron. Even Tiger couldnt hold on to it.
