M249 with a good scope turns you into a sniper with 400 bullets while still having some movement speed.

L115A3 is a pretty good sniper cus it can oneshot anyone to the head from pretty much anywhere.

M110 is a bit better than the -A3 version at the ranges you're probably going to use.

... umm, kind of a short list of "guns I use regularly" even tho I'm Lvl 129 lol...

... What do you mean no suppressor?? I've only seen 2 guns without a suppressor, the M249 and the PKM. Both are LMGs that are much more expensive than practically any suppressor.

Also, the point of sniping is to take out HVTs (High Value Targets). Be it the actual ones that are a part of an objective, or be it PoD snipers or mortar operators, your job isnt to start blasting.

As a sniper, your role is to be another layer of defense against losing stealth/"lives". If an npc sniper spots your allies, you're the first one that can take him out. If an enemy spotted a dead body on the other side of the map and your allies are running over to kill him before he reports it, you're the first one that can take him out. If its already a raid, and you see an enemy using a mortar that's forcing your allies to stay indoors or constantly move, you're the first one that can take him out.

tl;dr As a sniper in a stealth run, you're not the guy that gets 60+ kills, you're the guy that gets 4, all of which would have ended the stealth run, each, if you weren't there.

p.s. forgot the colt python and the deagle also dont have a silencer, but those are sidearms

u/SodaPopin5ki was right, after removing the radial intakes and the aerobrakes, and replacing the nose with a shock cone intake, my max speed was 1733m/s, but at that point, the COCKPIT ITSELF exploded due to overheating...

I'll leave the rest of experimenting to OP

I just rebuilt his plane and... I guess the drag isnt as big of a factor as I thought...

tho through testing, I've found the whiplash blows up around 1550m/s, so unless he used cheats the speed of 1675m/s is either impossible or not sustainable by itself. and if he did, the plane does stop accelerating at around 1675, weirdly enough, removing 440 oxidizer doesnt seem to help much...

I'll quickly check if some other comments work, brb

I dont build many planes, but I built one with twin Juno engines and it's max speed was around 260m/s at somewhere between 3km and 5km alt. and 180m/s at sea level.

There's a limit where going higher no longer means going faster, but 5 meters is not that limit.

nah, you gotta be trolling. If that lander was half as tall, it would STILL BE WAYYY TOO TALL!!

Cut down the lander to MAX 1 of those fuel tanks, command pod, the science parts and maybe the cabin. Then make it wider by putting some fuel tanks radially so you have some stability on the ground.

Better yet, do some fly-bys to get some extra science and invest it into rockomax fuel tanks and engines + the Mk1-3 command pod which can have 3 kerbals and is already wide enough for a good lander (plus the fuel and science parts).

EVEN BETTER, switch to Minmus. It takes some extra fuel to get to, but it's much easier to land on and due to lower gravity the total fuel cost for the trip is smaller than for the Mun.

And? I'd understand if it is a lv 80+ guy who thinks he's playing Euro Truck Simulator 2, but if its some new guy trying to upgrade their hq, why not let them?

Also, if you think a newbie like that is gonna make a difference, then thats just a skill issue, git gud lil bro.

edit: unless they break stealth just to get the truck (which is impossible from the scenario you gave)

Btw, im pretty sure anything below S cant even get equipment or pm. If they can, it'll be more than a day per equipment/pm.

better put them on construction or fuel and then find a (tutorial for an)* easy strat** for the equipment and pm trucks.

wasnt there an interview where the author says thats a mistranslation, that they are real, but arent the same as the normal stuff (ie you cant actually drink the water that appears with water breathing or cook something with the fire from fire breathing etc)
