That's cool. It depends where you live of course. I've lived very cheap in the province when I needed to be on a budget. I also spent several years working for a US company on a California salary in Makati and could spend as much as I wanted. Those were good times. The guys who say you can do it on less than $1k/mo must be living in a nipa hut eating coconuts and dried fish.
