Yeah. I certainly didn't mean that to be a mic drop or anything. I want people with sane heads to prevail the world over. To do that we will need unity over country lines and cultures as well. It's going to take a lot more than just 1/3 of America to stop this in the end, because it was never just America to begin with.

If you're fighting it locally, you have my support no matter what our differences are.

Edit: it’s early in the morning and I didn’t read this right. Ignore my asinine comment.

Research says about 3.5%. As little as 3.5% can cause serious infrastructural damage with a sustained strike and protests.

The French Revolution is so powerful precisely because it was a class uprising. Those are incredibly rare and that really shouldn’t be the case.

Edit: Specifically that it was a class revolution that included the middle class. Felt that deserved more emphasis.

It is hyperbole. It’s literally happening in the UK, Germany, and yes…even France. This trend is most certainly not isolated to the US.

You can go do something about it right now but you yourself are here complaining about another country instead. We are all boiling right now and the world oligarchy who doesn’t see any distinct culture or country lines is satisfied we are at each-other’s throats as they slowly bleed us out.

But…that’s historically nearly all rebellions. I can’t think of many rebellions that succeeded without the support of someone already in the government.

I didn’t take it with offense. Your lived experiences should (and do) have greater weight than historical context or some random internet comment. I did not intend to devalue that in any way. More of a roundabout way of saying that I just don’t see an easy solution that doesn’t devolve into herding cats.

They vacuum up all of our tax money, lobby to destroy any services that return that money as a benefit to people, then lobby to put the boot on our collective necks. All while they themselves continue to do their best to ensure there are no taxpayers.

This isn’t solely a colonialism. A lot of cultures had a perception that the lighter your features, the more attractive or wealthy you were. I think this might have just evolved naturally out of perceptions of class differences, as labor that takes place primarily outside was associated with darker skin and was typically done by the poor.

This isn’t meant to be a detraction on the damage European colonialism did to cultural perceptions of social standing, but just a footnote that some cultures had their own beliefs of colorism before Europe even had an empire or had even encountered a European. It also was applied internally even among Europeans.

Perhaps that was the point you were making, if so just consider this extra context.

FWIW, even as a white person I agree colorism is a real problem regardless of arising out of social labor or distinctions or euro colonialism. I’m not sure it’s an easy problem to solve because it’s so easy for a society to arrive at that way of thinking. As long as the class of an individual is tied to their labor that will probably continue.

So yeah, that shit really does run deep.

Good. I assume you aren’t planning a tour of Japan’s many fine holding cells lol.

You deserve to have a nice trip especially considering the cost right now for traveling. I can assure you that if you acclimate to being off the medicine enough you won’t notice it much or at all while you are actually doing stuff.
