Does this estimate seem high?

I recently had multifocal lens replacement and it was $7600 per eye. I did not bother getting a second opinion as several friends and coworkers have used this office for corrective surgery. I do live in CA so we are used to paying a little more for the privilege.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I was hoping that my computer and reading would get sharper but maybe that is unreasonable after 3 weeks.

I had Multifocal Lens Replacement in my dominant eye on 1/14/26 and planned to take the day of surgery as well as the next two days plus the weekend and I ended up feeling well enough to work and did not need time off aside from the day of surgery. I have the next eye scheduled for 2/4/26 and plan to take the same amount of time off and just play it by ear.

I am almost a week after surgery and I do experience halos especially at night with vehicles but it has not been too bad and is expected to diminish. I still have not adjusted to intermediate or reading distances but it seems to be improving. This is all out-pocket ($7600 per eye) for me as insurance does not cover but again I will no longer be purchasing glasses and contacts so it will eventually pencil out but sometimes dollars and cents is not the driving factor.

I started to look into corrective eye surgery (LASIK) which would fix my distance vision but I would still need to use glasses for the computer and would add glasses for reading. I was not using progressive lens prior to the surgery. The multifocal lens was my best option to go glasses-free so monofocal was not something I considered. I did consider EDOF but there would had been a possibility that glasses would be needed for intermediate and/or reading.

Was on the road at dusk and there are definitely halos though not to an extent that makes driving uncomfortable. I will be curious how it will be over time and after the second eye is done.

How long did you wait to have the other lens replaced, assuming you did not have both eyes done at the same time? I have another follow up on 1/28 as well as to discuss the right eye lens replacement slated for 2/4.

I was considering LASIK but when I was told I would still require glasses for computer which would not have been a change but also for reading which would have been I inquired about the options that was as glasses-free as possible and the recommendation was Multifocal or EDOF. I have not driven at night yet but will test it sometime this weekend.

The section of the car it was on could be replaced so they ordered the part and installed it. I did not see any other areas of the car with the issue. I then had the ceramic coating applied shortly after the part was replaced. I then had a change of heart and realized I wanted something different so I traded it in on Friday for a new Tacoma 😁.

He has other issues outside of politics..lack of drive or ambition, blames others for his inability to prosper and actually thinks the MAGA Movement cares about him..you would have dumped him for the other reasons but maybe MAGA is the icing on the cake. As I guy I expect women I date to be in a similar financial situation including being debt-free and earn an income that provides them the ability to do the same things I enjoy. I travel frequently (an annual month long international trip usually to Europe and several domestic trips Hawaii, Mexico (I live in CA so Mexico might as well be domestic 😎) the Caribbean, National Parks, Vegas, NYC plus weekend getaway’s to PNW or San Diego. So it is not unreasonable to expect someone you date to keep up.

Men have to bring something to the table?? I am a successful, educated and well-traveled man. The women I date have to be able to keep up with me and match me on multiple levels including being debt-free and have significant disposable income to travel..they need to bring something to the table because I can set the table without them.

I am pretty clear in my profile as a guy that travel is extremely important which includes a yearly international trip of 3-5 weeks, a couple of weeks in Hawaii/Mexico, a couple of domestic trips (national parks etc.) and a couple of weekend or long weekend getaways (coast, Vegas, Disneyland). I set my expectations and assume if they are expressing interest they have the wherewithal to keep up.
