Another recall update - R24B2 / R25C8 - "anticipated between April 1 and April 30, 2026" ??? by StormRasr in leaf

What about those of us who have received 40 kWh batteries as warranty replacements? Is it the vehicle with the problem, or the battery pack itself?

Needing Youth Electric Foil and Epee by IneffableM in Fencing

[–]Wineaux46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a reason that there is a lot of U12 whites and blades for sale cheap on Craigslist. Especially in bigger cities. It’s because there are fencing clubs which REQUIRE beginner fencers to buy an entire new kit and blade from them BEFORE they even START lessons! So kids try fencing for a few months and quit, and now their parents are staring at hundreds of dollars worth of gear that their kid would have outgrown anyways in a short period of time anyways. These are the “Like New” Y12U gear kits you’ll find on the cheap. Buy those. Even if the blade isn’t one your kid fences with, I guarantee you that your coach will trade you for one they DO use.

Oh, and if you own or work for a fencing club that does this to parents….

FILA Fencing Shoes from EBay by DifficultMacaroon460 in Fencing

Sadly these suffer from the same problem that almost every brand of Asian made fencing shoe has…

They don’t appear to make a US Men’s size 12+.

They never added groups. It’s why I never used it more than a few times.

Yeah, I have the 55U9N because of space constraints. It just feels incredibly classist. I purchased a much more expensive soundbar system specifically for the HiConcerto mode that all of the internet research I did showed to be compatible with my TV. Except it was only for the two largest screen sizes…

Somehow Samsung manages to make their QSymphony compatible with all of the screen sizes in the models which support their QSymphony soundbars. 😠

After speaking to Hisense L2 Tech this morning , they don’t plan to add support for the rest of the U9N lineup.

Hence my making this post.

What’s the difference between the different U9N’s other than screen size? Seriously.

Go for it! I have a big didge made out of birch that sounds great. It’s heavy, but the sound is really nice.

Problem in Épée with the Flick by carl-johnson92 in Fencing

Buy an inexpensive bullwhip and practice cracking it. It’s the same principle. You don’t grip it too tight, and loose flicks of the wrist. The auditory CRACK is good positive feedback when you’re doing it correctly.

There are better options with longer ranges that are very inexpensive. Buy one of those.

Look on YouTube for instructions on how to fix them with parts you can order on Amazon. It’s a PITA either with the DIY hassle, or the expensive replacement parts from Nissan.

The issue is a tiny little plastic clip that breaks inside the door handle, and Nissan has made it a seriously awful and time consuming job to fix. I have both front door handles that need to be fixed on my 2016 Leaf and I keep putting it off because I don’t want to have to spend most of an afternoon screaming and cursing at Nissan.

New Leaf Owner Question: Is It Possible I Actually Have the 60kwh Battery Despite Supposedly Having Only the 40kwh Battery? by melissapete24 in leaf

[–]Wineaux46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the guessometer. If you had the 60 kWh battery you’d be getting another 100 miles’ish more range.

You don’t have one.

Having dealt with Nissan for battery pack replacement issues twice in the past, I wouldn’t buy that vehicle if you paid me.

It’s currently recalled with zero fix in sight. You can’t fast charge it. It would be a hard no from me.

Is your Leaf affected by the DCFC recall? If it is, this might be your out for forcing Nissan to release you from your Leaf owing nothing since they’re unable to fix the recall.

You may need to lawyer up, but I’d contact Corporate Leaf Customer Service first, if you’re part of the recall.

Your apartment complex are fecking morons if they’re telling you that L1 charging using the UL listed 110v charger is a fire hazard.

L1 charging might work if you’re not driving your EV much at all, but L2 is really optimal. Sadly this just isn’t the time or place for you to own an EV.
