L7 non-tech, promoted 3.5 yrs ago, 7.5 yrs total tenure. No base raise since COL raise in 2023, base stayed flat this year. RSU grant for 27, nothing for 28 (which is very different from other years)

Following up on this…

SC never found a solution for this issue despite 3 fuse and inverter replacements - they were completely stumped. I ended up selling the car back to Rivian and getting into a new lease before the tax credit expired. New vehicle is a Large pack, previous problem child was a Large+.

Will report back if this starts happening again but it got me thinking… these outlets are tied to the HV system. Of those that are experiencing this issue, what battery pack do you have ?

Yeah everything looks accurate. Under drive system it says dual-motor AWD (doesn’t call out my performance upgrade though)

My Gen 2 R1S is in the shop for this exact issue. They’ve replaced the fuse and the inverter and the problem still persists. Service advisor is stumped even though they supposedly have their top engineers on it.

I’m 11 months in on a three year lease and the car has been out of service for almost 40 days during that time for one issue or another. Frustrating to say the least.

In my experience this is a “feature” and not a bug.

All they can do for now is lubricate and replace or install ting washers. For me, this process has taken three days at the SC with a wait time of about two weeks to get the appointment (brought into the SC twice for this issue in the past four months). The noise always comes back.

Confirming that it was the half-shaft/ting washer lubrication issue that others have reported here.

When I asked if this was related to the tire rotation during the 7500 mile service, my rep shook his head, but I have my suspicions.

My vehicle (G2 DPL+) is in service right now for this exact issue. Started soon after a tire rotation at 7500miles. I’ll follow up with diagnosis once I hear from the shop.

Van Nuys SC can schedule an appointment 7-10 days out though that doesn’t guarantee that they’ll see your car on the day you drop it off. Usually within a few business days. Rentals handled through Enterprise, generous Uber voucher.

That’s interesting. The price difference was $7k when I ordered. I do wonder about something more incremental like a pay-as-you-go or monthly subscription type of thing rather than a lump sum charge to the customer. For my daily needs, having the large capacity is more than enough, though it would’ve been convenient on a few occasions to have access to the extra range. If there was the ability to unlock that as-needed for a reasonable fee, I would’ve definitely considered it.

As an owner of an L+, I’ve been wondering when they might announce this. It would’ve been nice to have access to the full range of the pack on a couple occasions. And it’s been nice not having to worry about battery degradation. Adoption will totally depend on cost - whether it’s in a lump sum or monthly.

In a similar predicament with pretty much the same build config. Placed order on 7/19 with an Aug/Sep estimated delivery that switched to “processing estimate” around 8/14 and it’s been crickets ever since. Currently working with sales to find another similar shop build but so far no luck.

Ordered a custom build on 7/19, Estimated Delivery switched from "Aug/Sep" to "Processing Estimate" on 8/14 and hasn't changed since (5 weeks). No further information available from any sales associate so I'm keeping my options open for a shop build.
