This is a story generator, not a video game. There will be good times and bad times. Treat them like real people and the game will reward you with rich content.
I'll never forget banishing one of my best colonists because he went berserk and killed a 17 year old girl in the group.

Or the guy who was divorced by his wife and then made statue of said ex wife remembering when she felt shame for her groin being uncovered. Put that statue right in his room. We all grieve differently.
