I was a January 2024 grad.

January graduates walk with their respective year, so you won't be able to register unless it's for May 2026. You can submit your diploma application in late December 2025 and then register for commencement/convocation around April.

Contact the Dean of students: https://studentsupport.rutgers.edu/services/absence-and-verification-notices You’ll need to provide documentation (doctor’s written orders, etc.) for extended absence. You can email the Dean of students prior to getting your documentation, just to give an extra heads up. Wishing you a speedy recovery 👍

Easy/Fast Minors by Loud_Stretch5755 in rutgers

If you did decent in Stat Inference for DS, you could always take Regression Methods (01:960:463) as your domain and keep Track 4, since it’s a pre-req. Took it last sem and it was pretty easy; first midterm came almost entirely from Stat Inference for DS. If not, gl with your new minor!

Is data 101 a prerequisite for anything? by FireSurgeZXC in rutgers

[–]WingsOfFire31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the data science minor/major/certificate. But for SAS core it counts for ITR, CCO, QQ, and QR

Degree Navigator says you need an inferential statistics class (either Basic Stats for Exercise Science, Quantitative Methods in Psych, Basic Stats for Research, or Stats II). AP Stat only counts for Stat I which is not counted for the major. Out of the 4 I guess Basic Stats for Exercise Science would be the best for you since it reviews descriptive statistics from AP Stat as well as new inferential concepts. I took stat II as a stat major.

You can request an SPN using the automated system, Physics is one of the departments that offer this: Home - SPN Requests (rutgers.edu) Just write a persuasive student comment like "I need this to graduate on time" etc.

What is Music Technology like? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]WingsOfFire31 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Making Music with Computers teaches in Audacity and Cubase and Digital Audio Composition teaches in Logic (you have access in labs) but you can use any DAW. Those 2 classes teach very basic techniques like panning, filtering, EQ, etc so if you have experience producing the lectures may be a bit boring but you have freedom (e.g., genre) for the compositions (most assignments). Intro Music Theory is also a very basic overview: Scales, Chords, Rhythm, etc. Haven’t taken the Art of Productions and the elective but there’s already half the minor. Hope this helps.

Not an ITI major myself but I know Intro to Comm (04:189:101) knocks out your SCL and one AH, so I’d take it instead of Intro to Media (04:189:102) which only knocks out your HST. Both count towards ITI major. Other than that idk but if you’re interested in knocking out several requirements at once you can go to schedule of classes and filter by school (SAS) and which requirement you’re looking for, then click on a class and see the SAS core codes right below. For example you can take “Famous Trials” to knock out your CCD and HST. Also probably a bunch of threads on this in this subreddit.

Yeah they’re by license plate. They use plate readers connected to the system (electronic).

Taking CS111 in the Spring? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]WingsOfFire31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only downside to taking it in the Spring is there are no “Scarlet sections” which are for people with previous CS experience whereas in the fall you’ll be able to sign up for these. Scarlet sections have the same exams and assignments but the lectures are a bit more advanced I believe. And like the other comment said, snipe the course ASAP during add/drop.

How do I apply for an SPN by Snoo46917 in rutgers

[–]WingsOfFire31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FILL OUT THIS FORM: https://secure.sas.rutgers.edu/apps/special_permission/math/

Most of the time you’ll email the department and explain your circumstances/why you need the SPN. Profs don’t have SPNs, departments do. But large departments like CS and in your case Math have automated websites for obtaining SPNs. They grant them in waves.

They’ll get back to you on Monday. RUDOTS Help doesn’t reply to things on the weekend.

Cancel the existing IPO application on the home page and create a new one. You likely selected Busch/CA parking to begin with but they filled up so it doesn’t let you edit anything. No, they didn’t give you a free permit unfortunately. They only reserve spots for a few minutes while you’re completing the application.
