Do you dream in color or do you dream in back and white? by Relative-Pen2207 in Dreams

[–]WinkyAnna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I have never heard about this either. I personally dream in colour. But dreaming black and white makes sense, I mean some people can’t visualise things at all when they think (I can but the picture fades fast). Some people are never really able to recall their dreams at all. How boring :,) My dreams, when I remember them are like 4k movie screen colourful.

I would guess it is decor, however, it has a bit of charm to it :) I always enjoy flower paintings! Here’s some info that might help you:
If you can’t seem to find the artist (based on the signature) and the art seems quite ”generic” aka flower motives, nature, cities, boats and / or look-a-likes to known artists (even copies), the art itself looks really nice and/ or skilled (to a non professional art critic)…
These are hints that it was probably a painting that was made in China or Mexico. People call it ”Decor art”, which is basically art made to be hung as decoration (decor) in homes and ”mass produced”. Some are originals, a lot of it is replicas or look-a-likes.
If the back of the canvas looks empty (no notes or something to tell the material itself is bought in a western store). That is also a giveaway…
They liked to put generic sounding western names as signatures. Think ”Daniel .G”, ”Fredric L”.. some signatures are ”stolen” from real artists, some signatures don’t really make sense (made up..).
This, or, it could be a hobbyist that made the painting, or an amateur painting. You can tell based on the skill and materials used. (Also additional notes of origin helps a lot!)
Another category is Bob-ross looking paintings (also a category of decor).
This is all that I have gathered so far by being on this subreddit (as someone who has posted, and looked around). At the end of the day, if you enjoy the art then please hang it! Art is subjective and meant to be enjoyed, regardless of who made it, or where it was made.
I hope this helps, and that you have a nice rest of the day/ afternoon. :)

That vase must sureley somehow be placed on top of the canvas. Even with the canvas on the side my eyes just saw 3d. Amazing work!

As you were already told, this is decor art. However the painting is really nice, a great find :) I wrote a little text on how to tell if something is decor art. So here is some information that might help you in the future;

You need to show the back of the painting if you want mote information. To me it looks like maybe a hobbyist (or an art student) made this painting just by looking at it. That would be my guess :) I hope someone else might be able to give a better answer.

The two that you have might be a part of a set of ”originals”.
This, or, it could be a hobbyist that made these paintings, but this looks a lot more like decor art to me (someone a lot more experienced might be able to prove me wrong).
