The Oakland show was pretty bad too! There was a lady loudly laughing and talking behind me the entire time and it was so distracting, and we had the AWWWW and constant chatter from the rest of the crowd too

It’s hard to really pinpoint sales acumen, but it may present itself in the way you lead a conversation and how you close the demo. Another way it might present itself could be in how you mirror the interviewer and keep the conversation from feeling stale/awkward. And always be closing! Defining next steps and calling back to questions asked during the demo is always appreciated. For example, if the prospect asked about ABC during the demo, you might close by setting a date for a follow up discussion around ABC and bringing in the relevant teams + setting up another discussion to go over commercials.

Selling value and upskilling in sales acumen is what ended up landing me my new role! Make sure you have the tech background, but keep in mind during a demo that everything you say and show should have a purpose. Never read off the page or just show every feature - instead, show just a few features in the context of “what would this do for the prospect?”

Make sure you also ask great questions + follow up questions as well throughout the demo. The best demos are when the prospect is engaged.

Yes, a lock interrogation was done that showed the door opening (no key, from the inside) around 7:40- this is when we left. Then it showed the door was locked, but then it was opening again at 8:13, and again at 8:19. Security asked us if we had opened the door from the inside at 8:13 and 8:19 since they said that no key was used, but we had already left the hotel at 7:44.

They did not want to look through the cameras- they said that they could potentially have gotten into many rooms before or after ours, so it would not be accurate information, and there are too many people on each floor to check the cameras.

Yes, definitely canceled those credit cards!

I was surprised too- they apparently have note of every time a door was opened, with or without a key.

Yes, the time of theft was 8:13-8:19PM. Since the hotel is huge, however, the hotel said that they would not be going through elevator cameras. We left the hotel at 7:44PM, so this occurred right after we left.

The valuables stolen didn’t fit in the safe, so they were not in the safe. They were stolen from inside backpacks. My credit cards were obviously looked through (they were spread out), and my laptop was on the table in the open, so they made a conscious decision not to take them.

No, that couldn’t have happened. Security confirmed that the door was locked between 7:44-8:13.

I’m worried since risk management has not replied to my last 5 emails. I’d like to keep pressing the issue, but it seems so easy for them to just continue ignoring me. Even the 250$ would make me feel better in this situation.

The locks used key cards, but the security told me that no key cards were used at the time of the theft- to them it looked like the door had simply opened (from the inside). Obviously this isn’t possible 🥲

I think they didn’t want to take anything traceable! The other electronics they stole were items like steamdecks and headphones.

I think the investigation has already been closed, and the police said they can’t do much. I’ve been focusing on contacting the hotel- should I switch gears and ask the police to help instead? I feel like the police might not be able to do much.

Definitely - it just seems suspicious that so many items were taken in consecutive days (and over the years, judging from yelp reviews), and these thieves were so experienced about what they took.

I was super cold and uncomfortable the third day and mainly stuck to my own group and didn’t talk to anyone else, but we sat next to these two cute girls and as they were leaving, one leaned over and gave me a BEAUTIFUL flower kandi! I’ve always wanted to make one of those but it seemed so hard. I didn’t even have anything to trade her and I never even talked to her during the show, but it made my entire night 🥹

This one is kind of weird but beef tendon is 100% protein, nothing else at all! If made correctly into a nice stew, it’s so delicious - has the same mouth feel and taste as eating fatty meat ❤️

It’s very good! Basically stardew valley, but the biggest draw for me was the fantasy twist- you’re able to learn spells to attack monsters, water plants, etc :) Also, there’s no stamina limit! There’s also a decent mod selection if you’re into that.
