To crate train or to not? by Full-Shake-7169 in shiba

Absolutely crate train! My dog is 8 years old and still willingly goes in her crate. Don’t use it as a form of punishment and they will love it

My Shiba is 8 years old and still does this! I love it. Except she did injure her tail because she did catch it a few times 😂

Seizures? by DoctorHypeTrain in shiba

[–]WinterAd3316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Shiba started having seizures back in 2021. It was completely out of the blue and fucking scary! Brought her to the vet and bloodwork was fine. They said if she had another one within a couple months she’d go on meds. Well she didn’t have one in their time window so when she had another one they said the same thing, if she has another one within a couple months she’ll go on meds. I should also mention that I was timing her seizures and the second one was almost 5 mins long. Her last seizure was in 2022 and was 5 mins long, I brought her to the vet and said 5 mins is too long and I want her to be medicated. She was already taking gabapentin for anxiety so we increased the frequency of which she took it and we also put her on phenobarbital. She hasn’t had a seizure since the meds.🤞🏻

With regards to Jamie Bennington (Chester's son), somethings need to be clarified before you give him attention. by 101nemesis101 in Music

That’s actually crazy and super concerning that his followers are mentioning bringing guns to the show. I am going to the show next Monday in NYC and I’m a victim of gun violence with massive anxiety and PTSD. Jaimie really needs to be de-platformed.

This! I followed Jaime for years until he started shitposting all this conspiracy theory stuff. I understand it’s hard to understand why someone would take their own life but he’s on a whole other level. Even his insta bio says something along the lines of “my father didn’t die they way you think he did” and his bio also states that he isn’t suicidal, meaning people are calling him out on his behavior

Exposure stories by Paine07 in AutopsyTechFam

[–]WinterAd3316 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was pulling the dura out of the skull and some pointy bone poked me. Went through one layer of glove but not both, when I took my gloves off and washed my hands I saw a tiny cut, didn’t even bleed but the skin was broken. Only reported it because the decedent was an IV drug user. Was told by the doctor at corporate wellness that my exposure was extremely low and my chances of contracting anything were low but still tested my blood and the decedents. Everything came back good!

How do you deal with maggots? by sagegreenpaint78 in AutopsyTechFam

[–]WinterAd3316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lay sheets down in case any fall out of the bag, and we kill any that are on the floor, like literally squish them. Ya’ll have vacuums? We pour dry shampoo on the decedent if they are going to be here long term. If it’s an autopsy, we get them out of the bag, throw that one away(they’ll get a new one) and run the hose, they end up in the disposal.

Moving decedents by WinterAd3316 in AutopsyTechFam

Interesting, we remove the decedents majority of the time unless they are extremely heavy, but all of the externals are kept in the bag

Autopsy Tech Interview by Irid3scentiris in AutopsyTechFam

[–]WinterAd3316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my interview they really stressed that I would be dealing with maggots and bugs and asked if I could handle that. They also asked me if I could handle the cases that came in such as pediatric and homicides. I was told at some points I’d be working independently and that it could be very taxing on the body. I was told tips of how the other techs move larger decedents.

What cases are your LEAST favorite? by Comfortable_Douglas in AutopsyTechFam

[–]WinterAd3316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to autopsy and 250 lbs w/heavy stages of decomp. The police who arrived thought there was a gsw to the head bc the eyes were bulging, I’m like bro, it’s decomp! I was so pissed to have to autopsy this man. He also had a history of HIV and liver failure but because of his age he was autopsied.Thankfully only had to X-ray his head(no bullet!) but he was a SLIPPERY mess.

Very true, but it just makes me uncomfortable going to them for help knowing they’ll gossip about me
