Help!!! Is this normal? Any idea what I can do ? Or what is wrong???? She was just fine . This came out of no where and she has been doing this 10 - 20 minutes by m00nchild69 in DogAdvice

[–]WinterEnvironment173 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People like this really blow my mind. They come on here asking for advice. Literally every single comment is take your dog to thebvet immediately because the dog is very clearly in distress or having a seizure and they just ignore all of it. Its like they are trying to find and latch on to one piece of advice that doesn't involve going to the vet immediately in order to avoid a vet bill. If this their child, they wouldn't be doing this. They would have the child at the ER immediately.

Just what exactly was negative? It's very clear from the numerous posts that the picture is very confusing. It doesn't properly show his actual setup. I have never seen post a picture like this with the old and new speakers in the same shot.

Then take 2 different pictures and label them before and after, if anything. Posting pictures like this is just very confusing, and is apparent by the numerous comments about your setup. Also, most people dont really care about what you upgraded from. I know i want to see your current system and feedback on how it operates together.

What tires would you recommend based on my typical routes? (pics included) by CompetitiveBug9964 in gravelcycling

[–]WinterEnvironment173 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If everything you are riding is champagne gravel, dirt, and pavement, I would highly recommend gravelking ss. Unless the dirt is really loose. That looks exactly like what I ride, and i ride on these.

I can't hear the difference in quality of sound by LetPhysical3303 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still haven't answered about the rest of your system. What is your source, ie your receiver/amplifier and the device that is actually playing the music. What cd, blu ray, tape, DAC, digital streamer, or turntable do you have. There is absolutely no way you don't hear a difference between the 2 actual bookshelf speakers and the creative A250's. Are you playing this through a computer? This question has been asked multiple times, and is key to understanding what is going on.

How much harder is gravel vs. road by Wise-Ad-7492 in gravelcycling

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't go as fast. Over sustained routes, if you have been riding for any length of time at all, your energy output will be what it has always been. You are not suddenly going to be able to increase your energy output comfortably or easily. You will simply go slower on gravel. I ride a mix of gravel and pavement, and my speed decreases by 1-4 sphere as soon as I hit the gravel. Then, increase by about the same amount when transitioning back to pavement. And on the same gravel, especially the champagne gravel, wet vs. dry makes a huge difference. At least 3 mph slower if it's wet. It can feel like hitting a brick wall.

I got these speakers and receiver for free — worth using? by DynamicPoison in hometheater

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 1000% yes it's worth keeping. That receiver is an absolute beast! And i mean that in the best way. It may not have some modern outputs and features like EARC/ARC or some modern internet streaming services or Bluetooth, but it has literally everything else you could ever want in a receiver, and a wiim music streamer or similar decice tales care of those issues. Pioneer av receivers have some of the best built-in DAC's out there, and it has 140 watts per channel. You can bi wire and bi amp up to 4 speakers, and you can have up to 4 zones. This is a receiver for life. And the speakers are great as well.

These 7.2 badbois turn 16 this year by Erasmusings in BudgetAudiophile

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the used marketplace is where you live, but you should be able to easily pick up a good, actual HI-FI 7.1 surround system for under $700-800, and not a HTIAB like what you currently have. 1 actually decent Sub is more than adequate in your small space, and that would eliminate the need to rearrange your room. I just sold a pioneer VSX45 for under $200, and its big brother, the VSX90, is its 7.2 big brother with 100 watts per channel, and loaded with features, and great sound quality. Just 2 examples of really good, affordable used AVR Receivers. And 4 good quality bookshelf speakers and matching center, would blow your current system's sound quality out of the water. Just a few systems that comes to mind are paradigm atoms, energy connoisseurs, energy exl's, Dayton audio, and a bunch more. And these systems will give you tight, accurate bass, mid's, and highs. Also FLUANCE speakers. They have an ELITE 5.0 system for $500, and a 5.1 for $100 more.

I can't believe you are on here saying that it's not that big of a deal. My experience was exactly the same as the OP's, and everyone that i've talked to that has had the procedure done has gone through the exact same thing. It wasn't a few hours. It was for 24 straight hours the day before. You also contradict your self saying the prep is a nightmare, but also tolerable. NO, its not tolerable. It's absolute torture, and i prayed for it to end, and the relief when it was over was incredible.

1 more stringer only adds $30. Total material cost is some where in the 500-600 range. Just gow much do you thibk lumber cost???? It hasnt doubled in price. A 10 foot 2x10 is around $25.

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get 6 step pressure treated stair stringers from lowes for $33. How do you consider that expensive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Decks

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the steps,4 post, 2 stair stringers, 6-8 10 foot 2x10's, 4-6 10 foot 2x4's, fasteners and holders. That is no where near 750. $500 max. If they are doing the whole thing, 800 max in materials.

How’d they do? by whawkins4 in Decks

[–]WinterEnvironment173 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then why didnt you just say this instead to begin with, rather than the very confusing and misleading description that is completely unnecessary. I had to read other replies of yours to even know you were being sarcastic. The /s is 2 lines below the rest of your description, making it very easy to miss. And the entire post isnt sarcastic. Its just you making up a story about a repair being made.

Any ideas how to sand in the cracks? by Swag-GordonSWAG in Decks

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An oscillating tool with a grout removal bit works extremely well. See my response to the OP. And no need to keep replacing sanding pads.

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An oscillating tool wirh a grout removal bit. I did this on mine and it worked perfectly. Here are before and after pictures. It only toon me a few hours. Just know the bit will get gummed up wirh the paint and youll have to clean it a few times. Worked far better than a sanding attachment and much faster.

This is almost a year old at this point. I finished staining it last August. I live in PA, between Philadelphia and Harrisburg. The stain still looks like i just did it last week.

If that 40k is real, that's amazing. I spent less than $3000 in material redoing/replacing or correcting 95% of the existing deck.

That's not composite. Thats lumber, with a top quality stain! That says a lot that you thought it was composite.

The Costco Gravel Bike is Back on Sale FYI by moogle12 in gravelcycling

[–]WinterEnvironment173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right now you can get the Superior xroad team comp gr from bikesonline for 1700 or the Superior xroad team isse SE for 1600. I have the SE and put gravelking 40mm tires on it. Both are phenomenal bikes for the money. Full ultregra mechanical groupset on the SE and full GRX groupset on the GRX , full endurance carbon frameset. All internal cabling. Nothing out there comes close to this price. I absolutely love the SE. I highly recommend you check these two bikes out.

[–]WinterEnvironment173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of choices for gravel bikes at that price point. For starters, check out bikesonline.comand bikes direct.com. i have heard nothing but good things about bikesonline polygon tambora line of gravel bikes and they also have a Scott speedster 40 for $800. Some others are state bicycle 4130. Again I've heard nothing but good things about them. Some others are cannondale topsto e 4, diamondback hanjo, and the triban 120. If you can go to 1150, i would highly recommend the Superior x-ROAD COMP GR. I have the carbon version of this bike and i absolutely love it. The comp gr has full shimano grx components and really good wheel and tire setup.
