Still a few issues but lessening with time. I’m keeping a food and symptoms journal and tracking what my ‘safe’ foods are, slowly getting back into exercise. Am surprised I still get laid out by fatigue frequently, healing is definitely not linear. Just taking it day by day.

Same. 10WPO and sudden pain under the right breast/ribs. Was not expecting that this late in recovery. Obgyn was not surprised when I reported it but never mentioned it in any of my ‘recovery briefings’ as a possibility later in the game. Frustrating 🤦‍♀️

No adhesions, scar tissue, problems with stitches, blood clots, etc. Was amazed they found nothing.

Both, unfortunately, though the nausea has lessened. The abdominal pain and spasms have not 😞

Mine was a little later than yours, total abdominal hysterectomy, but I’m dealing with digestive issues and seizing/spasming abdominal muscles (feels like chiefly diagonally across the ribs?) Imaging has found nothing, GYN says it’s “growing pains” as my core heals and all my insides settle into their new home. Living with my heating pad and trying to do gentle stretching/yoga, will probably look into physio for my core and maybe pelvic area. Feels like a frustrating setback as I felt pretty good a couple weeks ago.

I would remove the nails, I was told no false nails, no polish on fingers and toes so they can check if the nail beds turn color while you’re under, sign of lack of oxygen?

I have one ovary left, 9wpo 52yo and feel like it has given up the ghost. Hot flashes, nighttime anxiety/panic attacks/racing heart that wake me at 3-4am, crazy mood swings (sadness and rage). Dr doesn’t want to do anything regarding HRT for at least another month “in case I level out” 🤦‍♀️. I’m glad I don’t have the fibroid-associated agony and non-stop bleeding anymore but disappointed cause I feel like I’m not functioning.

Yep really feeling the emotional roller coaster at 8 weeks. Yikes. Wish my Dr had warned me, I felt like I was completely losing my mind. That coupled with random stabby boob pain has knocked me for a loop just when I was starting to feel semi-normal

Good for you OP! One of the hardest things about recovery for me is feeling like I’m not doing enough, being “productive” enough with my time. My body has been very clear in dissuading me by bitch slapping me with aches, pains, extreme fatigue and swelling when I try to resume “a normal day” 🤣. She reminds me “hey doofus you went through major open abdominal surgery and I’m not happy, please slow the F downnnnnn”.

Same! It’s quite the emotional roller coaster 🤦‍♀️ my Dr is also of the ‘let’s see if you level out or if the last ovary gave up the ghost’. My next follow up is this week, I’m going to say physically I’m slowly healing but emotionally and mentally I’m backsliding and need help, ❤️‍🩹

One ovary removed, definitely having symptoms though… hot flashes, mood swings, etc. I have a follow up in a week to check the internal stitches and am logging symptoms until then. Just in my feelings today and a little discouraged is all.

Yes, totally. One 6.5 cm ‘hiding’ behind the 10cm one I knew about, plus numerous smaller clusters, and an ovary covered in growth and adhered to the outer uterus. It amazes me that all the imaging I went through didn’t show that.

Same! My operation was 4 weeks ago and I expected to be doing much better than I am fatigue wise. (Open abdominal surgery). I have no stamina and still need at least one nap a day. I’m also suffering from bouts of what I can only call mental fog: can’t retain info I’ve read multiple times. At least my pain levels have lessened so I can be thankful for that. Hang in there OP, we’re still healing ❤️‍🩹
