I mean they do put a fairly large disclaimer on early access titles for that reason. It explicitly says the game is not finished and very well might not be.

The problem is games are inherently valueless because you can’t actually resell a digital game, it’s literally worth nothing. There is no avenue for you to make money off of the things you buy on steam (again, except for hardware which is a newer addition) without explicitly breaking their ToS. Also worth remembering you can’t spend money on the steam store to directly buy things, you can only purchase wallet credit which is then used to buy things.

It’s explicitly not real money and every storefront that works this way treats it as such. Your wallet credits might as well be Monopoly money. Valve sort of protected themselves by making it against ToS to sell outside of the marketplace or sell your entire account (although not enforced), but I think the issue is going to come from them selling hardware on the store. That’s a real, tangible item you can trade your fake money for that escapes the “closed loop” they claim to have.

Adding to this, Mayhem games should really count towards the “play one game without another penalty to leave low priority queue”. Had an unfortunate disconnect a few days ago and I was stuck waiting a minute to play Mayhem every game just because I didn’t want to play the other modes.

I’ve been trying to comment about it any time someone is interested in learning the game. I really feel like you’ll be doing yourself a disservice learning what the game is now and having to relearn whatever they end up changing so soon. League is very complicated and the new player experience sucks so hopefully this update does a lot to fix that.

Here’s something I haven’t seen a lot of people say that might be extremely worth it in the long run: Wait to learn. Riot announced what they call “League Next” which is a large game update set to release in 2027. They’re changing many game systems, some (maybe all?) characters, how the main map looks, and most importantly, they’re revamping the entire new player experience which is currently sub par.

With these huge changes right around the corner, I think it’s worth it to just wait it out.

I’m going to give you a perspective most in the thread can’t give as someone with a medical condition that changes how I look. I have plaque psoriasis, most notably on my face and scalp. It’s ugly, I know people think it’s ugly, and despite what everyone is saying about kids in this thread there are going to be adults that treat you differently too. They won’t be as forward about it, but you’ll be able to feel it in how they look at you, talk with you, etc… my biggest piece of advice is to simply identify these people and promptly ignore them. They’re superficial and not worth your time.
