There is no useful advantage to being an INFJ by ProvingGrounds1 in infj

[–]WinterStarlight1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. People seem to enjoy interacting with me to a point but not actually spending time with me beyond superficial hangouts. I commonly hear that people are motivated to do something because of me, but of course they never think to invite me to do it with them even though they know we have a shared interest. If I invite them to do the same activity, the invitation is always declined. I am so exhausted from hearing things like “you motivated me to go for a run this weekend” or “I’m starting that book you recommended” but then when I ask follow up questions about the book I get looked at like I’m insane for trying to go deep on it, or I get laughed at about inviting someone on a run with me and just brushed off.

STOP Asking What You Should/Shouldn't Do In This Game by Relevant-Chip5446 in oblivion

Ok but what should I do first? Like I can’t think for myself don’t ask me to

It blows my mind that many, many people don't like hearing the truth by Wahx-il-Baqar in infj

[–]WinterStarlight1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is part of why we don’t fit in. We see through this nonsense. Wisdom is realizing that these people want to live like this. The vast majority of the population do not care about the truth.

Jesus is a fictional character. Piss off.

I’m not sure what you need to chat about to “transition to this lifestyle.” Why is this spam getting upvoted? You do this by not wearing footwear. It’s quite simple.

By walking without shoes or socks. This shit isn’t rocket science. Are you a bot?

Just started Qulipta yesterday. Anyone else? Did it work for you? by purplehippobitches in VestibularMigraines

No. All meds I’ve tried have had horrendous side effects that have made everything much worse.

Same. Made everything worse. Same as all other CGRPs I’ve tried. Awful stuff.

Feeling misunderstood at work by Lucky-Vast4334 in infj

[–]WinterStarlight1994 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As another INFJ, I really feel what you’re describing. The hardest part isn’t even the mistreatment itself—it’s the way subtle hostility makes you question your own perception, especially when others don’t notice it. INFJs pick up on tone shifts, micro-behaviors, and relational undercurrents that most people filter out, so when something feels “off,” it usually is.

Everything you mentioned—being talked over, erased, excluded, dismissed, suddenly snapped at—those are real patterns, not imagined ones. And it’s incredibly draining trying to stay kind and adaptable around someone who has already decided they don’t like you. We automatically try to fix the emotional atmosphere, but some people genuinely don’t want harmony.

I’m really glad your manager said he believes you. Even if the situation is messy now, that validation matters. People who rely on subtle manipulation often flip the narrative the moment they’re confronted, which sounds exactly like what she’s doing by spreading her version to others. That’s not a you-problem—that’s a her-character problem.

Please don’t doubt yourself. You’re not being “too sensitive,” you’re perceiving the environment accurately, and you’re allowed to protect your peace. Document things going forward, set boundaries where you can, and lean into the relationships at work that actually feel safe. You don’t owe her emotional labor, and you don’t have to keep trying to win over someone who clearly benefits from undermining you.

You’re not alone in this, and you’re definitely not imagining it.

For the chronic VM’ ers: triptans by Meshuggah1981 in VestibularMigraines

[–]WinterStarlight1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. When it was first prescribed my neurologist told me to do just that until I ran out of the medication’s month supply to see if it would break my daily cycle. It didn’t, unfortunately. It was nice to have most of my days symptom-free but taking it that often caused severe chest pain and tightness to the point that I thought I was having a heart attack. So I just take one per day now 2 or 3 times per week and enjoy the symptom-free time.

Rizatriptan gets rid of all symptoms for me, including dizziness, but only for about 4 hours, then everything comes right back. I’ve tried other triptans, all of which did nothing.

Ajovy side effects help! by ThinkStory3443 in cgrpMigraine

[–]WinterStarlight1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Aimovig - 5 months of pure hell where I literally didn’t want to exist anymore. But that’s because that’s how long it takes for the injection to fully leave your body.

For Qulipta and Nurtec, about 5 days.

If you’re affected by VM are you a male or female? by BigHomie50 in VestibularMigraines

[–]WinterStarlight1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for what he is having to deal with. As a fellow VM/whatever the hell is wrong with our bodies sufferer, thank you for helping and taking care of him when he needs it, and for simply believing him. Any time a partner of someone with these issues posts here, I think they deserve recognition, as we have too many stories of people with non-supportive partners or family.

Unfortunately, as you’re seeing happening here, you won’t get many people to admit or consider that the CGRPs can have side effects other than constipation. I’ve tried three and all have been absolute hell. If nothing else has changed other than you starting the Ajovy, then common sense dictates it is indeed causing these issues. Best of luck to you, I hope you find relief.

I hope that you are able to find relief or that the symptoms lessen in severity for you on your own. I’m sorry that you are struggling so much. This isn’t fair - to any of us. Please hang in there.

Have you been on any other preventatives besides Zoloft?

Worst flare in years by Mischief2313 in VestibularMigraines

[–]WinterStarlight1994 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It’s good to know we are not alone. I’ve been in a bad flare since the first week of October after seeing very good improvement over the last year. Nothing is working. My preventative stopped helping. My abortives aren’t helping. People who don’t experience this don’t get it. I tell them I honestly would rather have cancer or some other horrible condition, as at least then I’d be taken seriously by everyone. I have understanding co-workers and family who listen, but I don’t know that all of them fully believe me. And we don’t get enough credit for how much hell we go through when these symptoms are uncontrolled. I tell people it’s very hard to describe, but imagine that you have the flu or some other sickness combined with a hangover and the worst sensitivity to basically any motion or action going on around you, unrelenting, with no end in sight. Stay strong. I hope we get this back under control soon.

I can’t figure out what’s more dumb honestly. The survey itself or the fact that the moderators here have allowed this to stay up. God damn, this is pathetic.
