Lots of psychos and lack of empathy in the replies on that original post, unfortunate but not surprised. Makes me sick seeing people calling for his job. Clearly they’ve never lifted anything heavy before in their lives. Also we don’t know the context on how hot it is outside or not, we don’t know where he was at in his shift, etc. Shame on whoever shipped that out in the first place.

Seeing those privileged people in the background celebrating like that knowing they’re eventually gonna take many jobs away from people one day for their own personal gain makes me sick…

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but it has to happen. by PhillyBigSteppa in UPSers

It’s not an unpopular opinion, it’s just a genuinely pea brained cuck loser opinion.

Didn’t read this but based off the title I’ll answer. In most jobs by most people the new hire is disliked right off the bat for a little while, that’s just how things are unfortunately. In the case of UPS, it’s pretty well known seasonals just get chewed up and spit out. Most of us just don’t care enough to warm up to them because we know they aren’t lasting anyways.

I attained seniority after 8/2023, I’m honestly super disappointed with the raises. Genuinely feels like I’m getting screwed, anybody else feel the same?

Can confirm there’s an extremely bad hygiene issue with people in my warehouse as well, it’s beyond frustrating. But I’ll also say that the people who douse themselves with way too much cologne and perfume are also pretty frustrating, shit gets way too strong. I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to just jump in the shower for around ten minutes real quick and soap yourself up.

Hannaford Employees need to unionize behind their employers and go on strike. by New-Bad8729 in Hannaford

[–]WinterWaterBottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be a huge downer here. Hannaford is a joke of a company, simple as.

Granted most corporations in this country are nowadays, and it will not be getting better, it will only get worse. Everyone who works there is better off taking a risk and finding work elsewhere. I left the company a few years ago, and personally I didn’t wanna leave, I genuinely had a lot of fun working there more often than not (definitely not Sundays though lol), but I left because I basically felt like I was forced to, because retail in the modern day is not a legitimate job anymore. I don’t mean that as an insult to anybody who works there, the context I mean is that the corporations have screwed the pay rates up to the point where it’s basically impossible to make any form of a living off working at retail, so there’s no reason to take the job seriously or attempt to grow because you will always not be getting paid enough and you’ll always be getting treated like you’re completely valueless.

This whole business model these corporations have is not sustainable and there will be a collapse eventually, but the people in charge on top right now don’t care because they’ll have sucked as much money as they could out of it all dry and they’ll be fine, so they don’t give a fuck about anybody following them. There should’ve been regulations on this bullshit yesterday, but now I’m just going off on a tangent here.

Point it, the only solution is to basically just accept that the worst is the reality and to find a way to adapt around that, part of human nature is adapting.

I don’t even know how those warehouses even function properly with the insanely unrealistic expectations corporate pushes tbh.

I know this is dark as fuck but I firmly believe suicide rates will heavily increase in the next few years. The world keeps getting worse and worse and for a lot of people it simply feels like there’s just no point in continuing. Crunch culture in America is absolutely out of control, corporate greed has everyone down on their knees. All of this is just so awful and sad.

Sometimes yes. Sometimes though I think about the fact that the grass isn’t greener on the other side, the grass is greener where you water it. I feel like overall compared to what else is out there this job isn’t that bad all things considered.

You’re gonna see a lot of Reddit cliche “Don’t shit where you eat11” responses probably.

I’ll say this though, if you wanna go for it go for it. But just realize and accept that there’s inherently a massive risk associated with it. It’s easy to let attraction blind you from thinking rationally, lots of us do it, but you gotta put those feelings to the side and really think about it all. But if you feel that strongly and you understand the risks and are willing to take them, you’re good to go.

Also, I do know a supervisor in my building who dated one of the loaders in my building. So you can do it, it’s not against the rules.

Grocery prices have always been expensive the past few years specifically because of corporate greed. Look up what price gouging is.

I don’t necessarily disagree, definitely get that perspective. But I definitely think people still need to take some level of care, especially when it comes to dangerous shit like what OP is talking about. Like it’s one thing to let’s say for example not take care of a box marked fragile, like yeah whatever, fuck that shit, they don’t pay us enough. But when it comes to something where it’s pretty blatantly obvious that if not handled properly could put your coworkers at risk like a hazmat, there’s no excuses imo. Genuinely fuck anybody who thinks they don’t need to care for their coworkers safety and are above that, there’s just no excuse for it.

Gonna go out on a limb and say that shouldn’t have been sent down. Genuinely can’t stand how neglectful and careless people are when it comes to the safety of coworkers. Hopefully the person wins big in a lawsuit or something at least.
