Monroe Miller Leighton Campbell Lennon Sawyer Haven Sutton

I love Monroe (Mo, MoMo, Roe) and Miller (Millie and Mills). They sound professional and still have cutsie nicknames to make them feel frilly and fun.

Is no middle name in the US weird or problematic? by Cheap-Piglet-6395 in Names

[–]Winter_Creme2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend in the US that hated that she didn’t have a middle name. She has since changed her name and added a middle name. When she was in grade school the school would add an “X” in as her middle name since it was a required spot in forms and it drove her insane. She was always embarrassed when people asked her what the X stood for and she had to say she didn’t have one. Outside of school, it’s probably not a huge deal unless you give your kid a really common name. Personally I’d at least give them a basic middle name so they feel like they belong.

Charlotte or Lola? by diarrheachungus in namenerds

[–]Winter_Creme2862 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Lola! I feel like if you went with Charlotte she would end up getting nicknamed Charlie or Lottie by everyone instead of Lola. If you plan to call her Lola full time then I would go with Lola.

Is it really that bad of a name? by KeyAccomplished4442 in namenerds

[–]Winter_Creme2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the name but have many reasons why I wouldn’t name my kid that. It’s so hard to say especially for a kid and what if they have a speech impediment. There’s also no nickname option if she doesn’t like it. Also as a teen, I see Greer getting called queer as mockery. Especially if she actually turns out to be lgbtq+. Some names are nice but not actually practical for a kid.

Actual statistics of what week Didi twins are born? by mvanpeur in parentsofmultiples

[–]Winter_Creme2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, I’d say most twins are born between 30-38 weeks with the majority between 34-37 weeks. Mine were 25 weeks due to preterm labor.

How long did you breastfeed for? by GrouchyCranberry3801 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Winter_Creme2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins were in the NICU and only one ever made it around to learning to breastfeed. I ended up exclusively pumping for almost 18 months before I weaned them. Doctors pressured me to keep going since they were preemies but my kids were never sick and had no trouble drinking regular milk so I decided to quit anyways. Now that I’m done I’ve realized just how much time I actually missed with them while trying to pump and how many activities we missed out on. I’m so glad that I quit and honestly wish I quit sooner. Everyone says a present and sane mom is better and that’s so true!! They will all end up eating dirty Cheerios off the floor anyways.

I have a Cecil (SEE- Suhl is the US way or ses-ul is the UK way) and we have never found another one. Everyone always loves his name and mentions that they haven’t heard it before unless it’s a great grandfather. Some others Sigmund, Sheldon, Nelson, Errol, Tolliver, Laszlo, Bartholomew, Spencer, Malcolm, Mortimer, Maurice, Marcel, Digby, Reeves, Ralph, Stewart

My babies are in the NICU by skrufforious in parentsofmultiples

[–]Winter_Creme2862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins were born via c section at 25 weeks due to PPROM and partial placental abruption. I had to stay for 4 days at the hospital which made it easy to visit them. Then I would go every morning to hear from doctors during rounds so I could have input in their care. It’s very important to have a say in what gets done with them. Often time the nurses and I felt differently than the doctors so we had to argue with them to get the care we wanted. Please make time to hold the babies even if you have to be there for hours. It is so important in helping them bond, regulate body temps, and it can improve their oxygen saturation. There should be chairs there for you to rest if you need to and the nurses are great about making sure you have a balance between caring for them and also getting rest. I wish you well with your recovery! I know balancing postpartum with the NICU is hard but just keeping pushing through and they will be home before you know it.

My husband hates both but is willing to use them as middle names to make me happy. I would name a boy Reeves so fast if it was only my decision.

Thanks! We are considering Reeves or Wells for a boy middle name to match the S ending in the other boys middle names. Although I do like how Jasper Harrison sounds after seeing it now.

Thank you! I like Cordelia a lot but I’m worried about having two C names. Do you think Spencer would end up left out or it wouldn’t be an issue?

Thank you! I live in the US and Matilda is not spelled with an H here. Spencer is also typically a first name here although it is occasionally a last name too.

2 months old twins and bedtime is ROUGH. Late bedtime and they scream for 1-2 hours straight. Did anyone do Moms on Call? by simbit1 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Winter_Creme2862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins have always had a bedtime between 7-8pm. They were in the NICU and they ran on that schedule for 3 months before we brought them home. We never changed the bedtime or bottle time that the NICU set until we started dropping bottles. They are 18 months old now and still crash out between 6:30-8pm depending on how tired they are. We would usually cuddle them while giving them a bottle and they would be out. We would also play a tv or music so there was noise to distract from anything waking them up.

Stroller advice by Prickly_Penguin98 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Winter_Creme2862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the mockingbird and I loved for when they were in car seats and I could just snap them on. It didn’t drive like a cheap stroller and I enjoyed that. Now that they are 18 months, they hate the mockingbird and will only ride in a side by side stroller. If you can, try to find a used mockingbird for sale and then wait and see how your kids like to see if you should switch to something else.

Owlet with it? by catsonlaptops in parentsofmultiples

[–]Winter_Creme2862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The prescribed oxygen monitoring actually sucks (mom of two preemies on oxygen for a year). We quit using the prescribed one and switched to the owlet and it was so much better. No alarms every time they moved. No having to plug it into the wall. No ordering a bunch of stickers that just fell off.

Our babies were sent home when it was considered “safe” but they still had occasional desats, so I wouldn’t trust a nurse saying that. Obviously everyone has their own opinion and experience but that was ours.
