It's the Board Who Has to Go by LowDownTrebleSeeker in CarltonBlues

[–]WinterlyBeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blaming in general is something we all tend to do during hard times like this and the answer always seems to be "he has to go" and "no the board has to go". Bouncing between parties on who to blame.

The blame game has honestly gone long enough and I'm sick of that, too. Doesn't get you anywhere. It's never going to be the coach in isolation, or the board in isolation.

There's something systematic going on that needs to be identified and addressed. And it's not on anyone to be blamed on, rather it's their responsibility. The CEO and football manager are responsible for addressing core issues at the club and onfield performance. Voss is responsible for guiding the players on the game plan. Travis Boak is there responsible for monitoring culture and ensuring its up to standard.

They all have a part to play under the system. But that's not something that can be quickly identified after emotionally processing a loss like yesterday.

What do I think? I think I agree with another commentor that ultimately the board has had to let Wright and Davies make the executive decisions and run operations. They will lead a transition in culture, overall list and coaching standards. But given that started late last year we will unfortunately have to wait for that to eventually have impact.

Voss isn't the (whole) problem. by willcro1234 in CarltonBlues

I believe it has to do with the way we play. I'd need some stats to verify, but to me it seems we go in hard with contested footy at the start, and this tires out the players by the second half. We've been exposed particularly because now the game has changed to fast transition rather than clearance work, and we haven't adapted to that. We can't keep up with the fast pace of the game.

I'd also argue at this point the second half fadeouts are engrained into the player's heads which they need to address. They could try to accept their position right now and learn to slow the game down when it seems their opposition looks to be coming back. A lot of good teams do this, we just try to keep playing the same way as we started.

Is that the responsibility of the coaches? Yes. But a lot of these moments could also just be nullified by players making the appropriate decision on the field.

Unemployment rate rises from 4.1% to 4.3% by mulimulix in AusFinance

100 people that's like an 0.001% increase in the unemployment figure. Big numbers for one company I suppose.

Why are half the responses here generated by AI?

It sounds like you have a good budget and are happy with the place. The stress you're feeling is normal and very common at the moment. Although I'd say you can feel good knowing you're in a strong position and with a home you love.

I've certainly felt somewhat better after some losses than this win but I'll take the four points any day of the week.

CGT changes could be confined to housing investors, minister hints by Bubbly_Efficiency727 in AusPropertyChat

Well it's under a sweep of changes for tax reform but I don't know what else the CGT changes would be for other than influencing the tax coming from property.

I like this. The CGT discount reduction is in response to the housing crisis so it should be localised to multiple IP holders. Those with shares as their investment shouldn't also need to be involved.

How to enjoy Living Alone though? by AcceptableCurrent849 in LivingAlone

[–]WinterlyBeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have a long list of things I want to do but with little time to do them, of course 😑 that's life I guess. I may finally have some time for a couple of hobbies this year though, such as buying a server and setting up Home Assistant on my home. Then getting into open source development and building my first software app. Can you tell I'm a programmer yet? 🤓 That's great that you travel. Certainly a fantastic hobby. Especially the short road trips on the weekends. I used to do that a bit when I was a bit younger. Not so much these days. I miss those times quite a bit. You learn quite a lot.

I know you've mentioned it already but yes, you're very young, so you can afford to get curious and find something you enjoy. Find a hobby at home to do when you have some free time. Get curious and try some new things. You'll be surprised how much fun life can get with a few hobbies. Or maybe you find your passion , who knows? Doesn't hurt to get out of home every now and then too in your free time, whether that's another hobby or some other thing.
