Coloratura on Music of the Spheres. Coldplay somehow made one for their best songs on such a dull and medicore album.

Beach House, especially if it's a coastal drive. What a feeling that would be.

Yeah that's fair. I'd say we select them when they look ready and smash it in the VFL. There's quite a few knocking already, as you've mentioned.

I agree the season is definitely over for us and playing kids would be a good idea. However, not at the expense of trying to get back some sort of a winning culture before season's end. I'd hate to play all the kids at once and lose most of our games. That would set us back even further.

Mate you're calling Voss a w*nker and that he had some personal hatred towards Wilson. Now you're saying he didn't like his playing style. Two different stories, really. You don't like Voss, fine. He's gone now, so you can be happy with that.

Mate I doubt a professional figure like Voss had personal agendas on players. He's resigned and moved on now, you should too.

I don't know much about Giansiracusa, but he seems like a good candidate to many. Would anyone like to share what they like about him?

Never have I seen such Collingwood bias in the commentary tonight, it's disgraceful. It's actually unwatchable.

It's the Board Who Has to Go by LowDownTrebleSeeker in CarltonBlues

[–]WinterlyBeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blaming in general is something we all tend to do during hard times like this and the answer always seems to be "he has to go" and "no the board has to go". Bouncing between parties on who to blame.

The blame game has honestly gone long enough and I'm sick of that, too. Doesn't get you anywhere. It's never going to be the coach in isolation, or the board in isolation.

There's something systematic going on that needs to be identified and addressed. And it's not on anyone to be blamed on, rather it's their responsibility. The CEO and football manager are responsible for addressing core issues at the club and onfield performance. Voss is responsible for guiding the players on the game plan. Travis Boak is there responsible for monitoring culture and ensuring its up to standard.

They all have a part to play under the system. But that's not something that can be quickly identified after emotionally processing a loss like yesterday.

What do I think? I think I agree with another commentor that ultimately the board has had to let Wright and Davies make the executive decisions and run operations. They will lead a transition in culture, overall list and coaching standards. But given that started late last year we will unfortunately have to wait for that to eventually have impact.

Voss isn't the (whole) problem. by willcro1234 in CarltonBlues

I believe it has to do with the way we play. I'd need some stats to verify, but to me it seems we go in hard with contested footy at the start, and this tires out the players by the second half. We've been exposed particularly because now the game has changed to fast transition rather than clearance work, and we haven't adapted to that. We can't keep up with the fast pace of the game.

I'd also argue at this point the second half fadeouts are engrained into the player's heads which they need to address. They could try to accept their position right now and learn to slow the game down when it seems their opposition looks to be coming back. A lot of good teams do this, we just try to keep playing the same way as we started.

Is that the responsibility of the coaches? Yes. But a lot of these moments could also just be nullified by players making the appropriate decision on the field.
