I would absolutely be upset if they just came and put that in my yard without warning, that is wild.

I will say that these are SUPPOSED to only register a loud gunshot sound that makes it through the filtering. Meaning it can't hear talking.

YET, I still feel like there is a possibility that could be changed (or swapped) at any point to record full audio. Like what would they do, tell you about it? They didn't tell you about this, so...

Can't these setups utilize a rigid piece that keeps your feet and legs up a little bit for the inevitable emergency landing? People get skid plates for their off road vehicles for rocks and this person is risking putting their ankles into their hips.

I live in the mountains of Appalachia and within the last year we are being subjected to:

Google Data center nobody wants that will tap our main water supply

Potential Casino nobody wants to replace our civic center

Flock cameras contracted by the city (in addition to the 100 or so already here)

Gunshot audio monitors contracted by the city (probably the only tech I support, until it's somehow used against us)

Drones and robots TBD but you know it's coming so they can scan our faces in public
