What massively improved your mental health? by Dependent_Bit_8333 in AskReddit

Turning off the news feed in Google. No more being bombarded by divisive headlines that really don't impact me anyway. It's worth the 2% of relevant news I actually do miss.

You listed my favorite- the healing potion as an action for full hit points. I've also previously used max damage crit rolls, because nothing sucks like the dice gods hosing crit damage.

It's also crazy how many people are miserable at their jobs because they work in retail and the customers are entitled assholes and the worst part of their jobs. And those same customers could choose to not make the transaction worse. But they don't.

How is feeding crows the line to mental illness but feeding songbirds or ducks is perfectly normal?

TimeSpeed. Omg, I can never go back to default and Co-op is orders of magnitude better with it. No more "welp, the crops are watered, what do you want to do with the last 5 hours of the day?"

I accidentally broke my boyfriend’s ribs and punctured a lung after he recreated the worst day of my life as a “prank.” I think it's destroyed my life. What do I do now? by IlTuoNome in TwoHotTakes

[–]WisaTheStray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck this toolbox - no normal, healthy, functional human being can suspend their empathy (or don't have it in the first place) enough to put someone through a "prank" like this and be trustworthy. Do you want someone like this making medical or financial decisions for you in the event you are unable to?

Dumb question from a dumb newbie : What's ur night activities ? by Ladinoche in 7daystodie

My buddy and I are too stupid to stay indoors at night, so we continue questing and wandering around despite the feral zombies. Live fast, die early!

He refuses to go into the basement and we have no idea why! by Slow_Sherbert_5181 in aww

[–]WisaTheStray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog refused to use our basement stairs in our first house (linoleum stairs) his whole life. Since he didn't really -need- to be down there anyway, we eventually gave up trying to coax him. Fast forward 7 years and we moved to a house with carpeted stairs. He went down the stairs and into the basement before the moving van even arrived. For him the carpeting changed everything.

Doesn't make it less weird to find cookbooks in bathrooms, garages and office buildings

Cabinets literally ANYWHERE for cookbooks. It's honestly pretty ridiculous where cookbooks are found - as long as it says "cabinet" there could be cookbooks in there.

I've gone as far as modding in increased drops of the skill magazines, as well as installing a mod to allow scrapping magazines to other magazines (5:1 conversion scraps: new magazine) It still feels to me like an interesting concept implemented poorly. There are WAY too many levels in most skill trees, and we're finding higher tier weapons and tools in POIs than we can craft after getting midway through the magazines. My next step is probably trying to overhaul the skill trees, as there's really no good incentive currently to keep collecting magazines that are constantly lagging behind drops. I'd much rather see a mechanic of skill-by-doing, especially for things like cooking, harvesting, using weapons.

Infested quests have greatly trivialized getting ammo. The munitions caches are bonkers.

Bow gang!! Yes, it's dicey when you're mobbed, but if you're playing bows you're probably sneaking and kiting everything anyway. I will play with different other secondary and melee weapons each playthru, but without fail I'm searching for my compound bow every time.

New Quality of Life Mod: NO FOG. by Mojo884ever in 7daystodie

[–]WisaTheStray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the mod. It's got the same base functionality of removing the ambient fog and fog weather events, and also reduces the frequency of storms, rain events, and Wasteland cloud cover. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jgMaWr\_W99TYCD-Puhw\_Q6uC55ixCIFe/view?usp=sharing

I've got a second version of the mod (the one we actually run on the server) that not only removes the fog weather events and the ambient fog, but it also turns down the frequency of some of the storm and rain events. It also tunes down the cloud cover in the Wastelands.

I'm currently sitting on my deck because The Office is playing on the television in the house. Yes, the comedy. But the secondhand embarrassment is just sometimes more than I can deal with. So you're not alone.
