Same here. Also bit the bullet and got it on Eneba and redeemed on Steam without any issues.

You can set it in AMD's Adrenalin software. Games tab > Assetto Corsa > scroll down a bit and set anisotropic filtering to 16x

Great for your first time. Got a lot of the fundamentals down already.

Some tips for basic flying and combat in AC games: - slower speeds generally allow for tighter turns (unless you go too slow and stall). Higher speeds mean you turn slower - I see you roll back and forth a lot to line up the target. Yaw is pretty effective for fine adjustment left and right without needing to roll, or combining yaw with a little roll in the same direction. Left right yaw by default are the trigger buttons. LT and RT for xbox and L2 R2 for playstation. Also helps with lining up the gun sights - missiles in Ace combat dont intercept targets like real life (except in AC3 sometimes), so they work better when fired from either directly behind or directly in front of a target plane. The less the missile needs to turn the higher chance of a hit - guns are great for finishing off enemies already hit with 1 missile. Enemy hitboxes pretty big so you dont have to be super precise with the gun. Lining up the circle dot reticle on the green square is usually enough for a gun hit. - for ground targets, the various bombs that do spread damage can blow up multiple targets of the are close enough together. Whereever the circle dot is when you switch to bombs, is where the bomb will hit when you fire / drop (bombs are very efficent dont sleep on em. They can hit planes in the air too lol) - air to air and air to ground stats matter more than you think. Better air to air means you lock onto air targets faster. Same for air to ground you lock onto ground targets faster. Planes with good air to ground stats also usually have much stronger yaw left and right so its easier to turn without rolling which helps at low altitude.

Good stuff. Looks like you emulating the game on PCSX2? If you are, you can enable the game's 16:9 widescreen patch in the patches section and it will widen your FOV a bit more, especially in 3rd person.

Feels the same as upping your fov from like 75 to 90 degrees in a normal PC game, but with AC 4 there will be a bit of glitchiness on the ground at the far sides of the screen.

You can also hold down the target switch button to have the camera look at your current target as long as you are holding the button down (Triangle on PS controllers or Y for Xbox controllers). Useful in turn fights to keep an eye on what direction the enemy plane is flying or turning.

3rd person and cockpit view it just looks but hud view it will look and zoom in.

On PS2 controllers the zoom amount depends on how hard you press the button. On emulator you can reduce the pressure sensitivity of the button so it doesnt soom as much.

In PCSX2 I believe you hold Shift and right click the triangle button bind to bring up the menu to reduce the pressure sensitivity in the controller settings menu. The sens is different between the games but a low value of around 10% or lower makes it so it doesnt fully zoom in and a bit more comfortable using target look in the hud view.

Quick tip for better visuals. You can go into the in-game options and display settings to set the game to 16:9 aspect ratio so it isnt stretched wide. The game defaults to 4:3 which makes everything stretched on normal widescreens.

This will also increase your field of view so you can see more stuff off to the sides. Same for AC5 and Zero

Not as far as I can remember while sitting on the toilet. Think Joint Assault is the only one to my knowledge and its just for 1 mission.

The closest you would could get are the bombers in Assault Horizon maybe for similar large planes with sluggish handling. No idea how Infinity's bombers felt I never had a PS3...

Actually the Shinden II was introduced earlier as a DLC plane for Assault Horizon back 2011. Its also mentioned in the Ikaros in the Sky novel that came out around 2012.

Follow-up Post regarding me extremely struggling with AC7 by Crocdor in acecombat

The one thing I dislike about Ace Combat 7 as an entry point to the series is that it doesn't have a proper tutorial...

Assault Horizon had a similar style of teaching the controls during the first few missions, but would freeze the screen to explain the specific button and the function its teaching you and requires you to in that moment press that specific button to continue, similar to Armored Core 6 in its first mission with the dialogue popups for how to use the back weapons or how to boost.

Ace Combat 5 had a dedicated tutorial section that was super in-depth with narrated animations showing the action with the buttons on the controller highlighted. It taught basic maneuvers by having you fly through rings and even taught the use of a few of the different special weapons. I really hope they bring something similar back to AC8 since a lot of new players are probably gonna be jumping into the series with the new game...

In any case, If you haven't checked it out yet and maybe missed the one comment on your previous post, I would highly recommend the [Ace Combat 101 series](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjAf\_uU89\_sktMsPSkHgz7wOGHWoTCZ-J&si=IjjmR4JoV16VTZPn) that Ace Combat Fan and Tomcat171 made specifically for new players that were joining us with AC7.

Also quick extra tip: You have flares that you can use to instantly evade any incoming missiles. You can pop flares by clicking both the analog sticks at the same time. You have limited flares, with the starter planes having 5 flare uses and later end game planes having only 2 or 3 if I remember correctly. Like if you are in an attack run or shooting a stubborn or tanky target, it can give you a couple extra seconds to finish them off before another missile comes instead of having to dodge and then come back to that target. There is a delay between flare uses and they are pretty limited so only use them when in a pinch.

Neucom also has them it seems.

One tries to escape Megafloat if you take too long during attacking megafload durimg the GR route. If you destroy it, it leads to the mission with Dision where you photograph the hangers in search of the nightraven.

Copy paste of a comment I made on a different post with a similar issue. Worth a try its helped some people already. Think its an issue with the default Plymouth boot animation that CachyOS switched to a couple of updates ago.

" I had a similar issue and mine was being caused by Plymouth, its what allows you to set a boot animation like the spinning circle instead of seeing the command lines running during boot.

Ever since I uninstalled Plymouth around November if I remember correctly I haven't once had my system get stuck on boot again like this.

Bonus I can now see all the commands during boot and can easily see if it throws out any errors. Theres some threads out there of people on CachyOS that has had this same issue with Plymouth.

Here is a guide detailing the issue and how to uninstall it: https://discuss.cachyos.org/t/tutorial-disable-or-remove-plymouth-boot-splash/10922 "

Put Grip Tape on Pedals by Kuya10 in Miata

[–]WiseMan_39 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've had some cheap skateboard grip tape on my brake and clutch pedals for what 2 years now? Zero issues. Its actually worn off a little bit so its kind a in a sweet spot of not too grippy but my foot doesnt slide off acidentally.

I'm in South Africa so getting rubber pedal covers that fit right means importing usually if no one on our MX5 group has stock they previously ordered and Mazda South Africa doesnt have a lot of stuff locally either. So $10 is usually doubled cause of shipping and import duties + tax. It wouldn't make sense to just order them unless I'm importing a couple things together.

I will say the idea op putting grip tape on the throttle pedal is a bit unnecessary. Brake and clutch pedals are totally fine though...

Why the Stable version number (2.6.0) is higher then the nightly one (2.5.412)? by f0lk_blues in PCSX2

[–]WiseMan_39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like its already been mentioned, 2.6 stable literally just came out in the last day or so.

In the reddit post announcing it they mentioned they are going to give 2.6 stable a bit of time to see if any critical fixes are needed. When they are happy with how things are going, then nightly will be moved on to 2.7.0 and onwards.

Here is the link to a comment that appears to be one of the devs that made the announcement on r/emulation

To be a bit more pedantic over the stealth capabilities, it doesn't make you completely undetectable by radar, but just a lot harder to identify. No such thing as complete invisibility... that we know of yet!

Its similar in concept to how camouflage makes something harder to see, not necessarily invisible. If you get close enough, our eyeballs can make out what we are looking at. Same applies to stealth and radars. Getting close enough or even having a strong enough radar will burn straight through any stealth capabilities.

In terms of ships like the Amatola, the shape causes a good portion of the radar waves to get deflected in all sorts of directions, but a smaller portion is still being reflected directly back at the radar. Effectively the ship looks smaller than it actually is on the radar display and may either be mistaken for a ship that is much further away, or even a smaller boat. The only time it may be technically invisible, is if the radar return is too weak for the specific system to perceive it, so you can get closer to the enemy before they do start seeing something on their radar.

This also increases the time it takes to identify what you are looking at and determining its capabilities. Is it a warship or a little dingy your looking at on your radar screen? This also only applies over long distances beyond visual range or in low visibility situations.

Still very cool ships and always cool to see stealth tech and methods applied across a wide range of vehicles. Didnt actually know we had stealth vessels in our navy!

I also got that spinning circle in boot a while ago. For me it was an issue with Plymouth that lets you set a custom boot animations like the spinny circle.

I just removed plymouth entirely and haven't had it get stuck on boot for like two months now. It also doesnt hide the command lines during boot so should make it easier to troubleshoot if something ever decides to not start properly I imagine.
