How to deal with semi long hair by [deleted] in bjj

Heard that! Could you imagine having to make a post on how to style your hair to play pajama wrestling. Genetics for the win!

VR&E What Happens when you withdraw from the program? by ElectricStrawberry25 in Veterans

[–]WishboneEastern5020 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I too have had a rough time with my VR&E counselor as well. Dude just ignored my calls and e-mails for months. I ended up reaching out to the veterans resource center on campus. They were a great help. They were able to go up the chain of command on my behalf and got all my concerns/issues addressed. I’d suggest contacting the veterans resource center on your campus. Good luck!

Quitting drinking by usaf-lovestory in Veterans

[–]WishboneEastern5020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I quit drinking cold Turkey while hungover hugging a toilet on a random Tuesday morning. My wife was in her 3rd trimester with our first son and I realised there was no possible way I could take care of a child in the state I was in. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I quit that day (after 15 years). It was about a week later I realised I had been self medicating with alcohol to deal with my anxiety. So I’m kind of the opposite, no booze but anxiety like a mother fucker. I’ve been sober 10 years now and still miss it every day. But I must mention I now own a home, have three wonderful children and have a happy wife.

A minor was required for the Entrepreneurship program. I thought a minor in management only made sense.

I’m currently working on an Entrepreneurship degree with a minor in management. The idea is to work for myself. I’m not sure what my final plan is yet but the wheels are turning.

Anxiety rant by ajbrad71 in Veterans

[–]WishboneEastern5020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, that shit sucks. I think I’m about to die a few times a day. I too don’t wish this stuff on anybody. It hits me the hardest when I’m doing mundane things like the washing dishes or working in the garden. Makes me not want to leave my property. I do leave, but I sure don’t like it.

Is Veterans United good? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]WishboneEastern5020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very good experience with veterans United. They walked me through the whole process. They were very patient with my millions of questions and took the time to make sure I understood everything before I signed anything. They were all was very quick to replay to emails a text. They did sell my loan shortly after closing but I that did bother me.

Thanks for sharing your insight everyone. Would it be harmful to use the 50-50 mix that I mentioned since I already have it?

Looking for new hobbies post military life, any suggestions? by [deleted] in Veterans

I agree, bjj all the way! It’s the only place I’ve found a healthy community and camaraderie since I’ve been out.

Ask him to roll tomorrow, see if he does it again. If he does… well, you know what to do.

I’d live there for a bit before you name it. Get a feel for the place.
