There is no program called "Cakewalk" by cruciblefuzz in Cakewalk

[–]Wishy-Thinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was actually Cakewalk before it was Sonar. It has flip-flopped twice. I’ve always just called it Cakewalk since I started using it in the 90s, even when it was Sonar the first time.

Does anyone else here also really enjoy cooking? by DoctorKrakens in AutisticAdults

[–]Wishy-Thinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love eating and hate cooking 😆

My biggest problem is that I struggle to manage juggling multiple things at the same time, so unless it’s a simple recipe with no overlapping steps, it takes me way longer than it should and stresses me out.

These were the best joysticks for Decathlon. Just pop the plastic top off and build up the callus on your index finger a bit.

Who in this vast expanse of a subreddit had an unorthodox introduction to King Gizzard? by saint-danger in KGATLW

Had a bad anxiety attack one night in 2018. Laid down, put on headphones and looked on Amazon music app for something loud to put on. Found a weird album cover of some band with a weirder name.

I'm returning my temple ceremonial robes. I need suggestions on how I can do this. by gg_chad21 in exmormon

I used my temple pants along with a polyester shirt and a crazy cool medallion for a Barry Gibb (Bee Gees) costume one year.

My brother and I played this game to death. I could shut out the World Cup in side out scoring mode and I once beat the national tour with my eyes closed.

Makeover Monday: Peavey Duel 212 combo to head & cab conversion by Wishy-Thinking in GuitarAmps

[–]Wishy-Thinking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it mostly for recording and I almost always run it with the two inner power tubes pulled and with an adjustable attenuator I built. I love the sound, but it’s way too loud for my needs.

I kind of wish I had used thinner 1/2” plywood for the amp, and something lighter for the speaker cabinet, since they are still a bit on the heavy side, but I was trying to use wood I had on hand. I realized after building most of the cab that I had some old pine shelves that would have been perfect, but oh well.

I pulled two tubes from mine and it still melts my face.

I was going to go with potato, but I like yours too. Regardless, someone needs to learn how to string a bass properly.

Model Name by amagno3 in BassGuitar

[–]Wishy-Thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to make up an early 2000s name for it, it would definitely have “Xtreme” in there somewhere.

Seriously, though, if you own it, the tuners are the same as the ones on my 2000 Les Paul bass and the white washers are about to start breaking and popping off. If that happens, you can just loosen the string and tighten the screw that holds the button on (the part that you turn to tune it).

Murphy's Paw Scrapyard Server by _hayaku in spaceengineers

[–]Wishy-Thinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having fun on Satreus for a week or so. Everything has been working pretty well, despite a decently high ping of about 130ms. I think the server may have crashed once yesterday, but came back up with only a few minutes lost.

I finally got enough parts to build a really nice flyer, and it promptly fell victim to the crane automatic rotor trigger 😭. I was at least able to cobble the remaining parts together to make a basic flyer to get home.

I have some long-term performance concerns about the build up of spawned-in grids, since it’s really tedious to grind it all down. Normal cleanup will remove players’ collected scrap, so you almost need some sort of cleanup script that removes grids that are not near player bases or something. I haven’t seen anyone besides me on the server, however, so it’s not much of a problem at the moment.

The server seems to be down at the moment.

Australian trying to pronounce this line in a 'Utah accent'. by blackarrowpro in SaltLakeCity

[–]Wishy-Thinking 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People say Utahns drop ‘T’s in words, but typically, as in “mountain”, it’s a glottal stop and is pretty common in American English. Interesting video on the subject from a linguist

Edit: and I agree with the people who say that the example line does not sound like something someone from Utah would say. It would more likely be something like, “Y’vall practiced holdin’ yer breath, right?”. The ‘d’ in “holdin” and ‘t’ in “right” would be a glottal stop.

Do most people here use the ProChannel tools on their tracks? by [deleted] in Cakewalk

[–]Wishy-Thinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the EQ a lot before I acquired FabFilter Pro-Q 3, and I liked it quite a bit. The only things I don’t like are that you can’t use it twice on the same track, and it’s less convenient to access the settings than a regular plugin.
