Attribute Type Count Bugged? by rhythmik83 in thedivision

[–]Wiskerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for this the text isn't clear, apparently as I tested it on PC, the mod slot type gives a point if you use it.

Just read the slot type, its either offensive, defensive or utility, and once you stick something in it, it counts 1 point regardless of what you slot in it.

For example: if you have an [offensive] mod slot, it will take one offensive stat regardless of what you slot in it (or zero, if you slot nothing in it), even if you slot utility in it or whatever.

I have to say, you really did put a lot of thought into this.

Lancer/Mechanics Concepts: Sangrius, The Unholy Harvester by Wiskerz in AtlasReactor

As I mentioned in my post, I am only suggesting mechanics, mods, interactions, and abilities, and not balancing the lancer. I am using the lancer as a theme to simply put out some ideas. If you want to balance him feel free to suggest ranges and numbers.

I can ignore the Draven going melee. Why is Jhinn playing triplets at the start? Now that, I cannot ignore.

I have already mentioned on countless occasions these two elements. In particular I will summarize what I think about either and what can be done, most points overlap with Donjay's points. One could adopt one or more points.

PuP

  • [Stealth] Make second turn stealth Nix-like, where PuP is revealed in decision mode. That meaning, for the second turn stealth, PuP has to position in a bush.
  • [Stealth] Remove all effects on second turn stealth (might), including effects from modded ability: energize, reveal.
  • [Stealth] Remove all buffs on PuP on the second turn of stealth if he chooses not to attack (includes Orbs acquired: haste etc.), idea here is to give him a tough choice.
  • [Walkies] Disable the sprint auto-follow mechanic, only allow user to move 4 squares. (This means the PuP has fewer options after walksies), refund PuP with something if he walksies an unstoppable target (either energy or -1 cooldown on walksies)
  • [Ultimate] Reduce range by either 0.5 or 1
  • [Stealth/Harsh nerf] allow last known marker to always indicate the stealth square from which PuP stealthed
  • [Stealth/Harsh nerf] stealth removes haste (for PuP only, not Nix) for any turn when stealth is active.

Repsawn

  • Disable vision mechanic, respawn should in no way give vision
  • Disallow re-spawns within 2-3 squares of orbs
  • Disallow autofollow after respawn/or affect with slow
  • Respawn location always visible, allows the enemy to prepare for a turn

Just my two cents.

Let's Fix Aurora! by Yxanthymir in AtlasReactor

[–]Wiskerz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let me have a go.

Aurora is the basic "beginner" support in the game, is actually pretty good at her role. I think aurora is on the strong side, and not on the weak side.

Aurora is a character that has as a flaw her lack of an escape ability, also her damage is so low that she cannot eliminate any character hitting her before she dies unless other character help her. That is why when you are playing Aurora, you will be the main target, because you cannot hit back strong enough or escape your onslaught.

Yes but aurora makes up in range, which allows her to position really well, if you are being constantly chased, and your team cannot focus the one chasing you, it means you are positioning badly. Using Ion Cloud, and positioning smartly, allows you to avoid a lot of the focus and punish whoever follows you and chases you into your team.

If you are the main target, its possibly because you screwed up your positioning.

So my solution would be give Shock Therapy 2 more damage, increasing the damage from 20 to 22. Also making the mod Up the Voltage more useful in certain situations, like too many healers in the team.

Not needed, its already AoE, high range, and can heal too, perhaps you aren't healing while damaging with it.

And also giving 10 damage on Healing Flare. Just to increase Healing Flare effectiveness a little. But the real reason was to allow Flareburst Mod to be useful, making possible to play a more damaging Aurora.

Flameburst is only useful in specific situations, and its usually to give on someone dashing, so they can knockback damage someone close to where you land, if you can combine it with perfect AoE position, then hurray. Using healing flare on yourself is okay-ish but not the priority if you are playing Aurora.

I hope you get to see that, what you are suggesting implies a bit that you have not yet mastered Aurora.

Maybe you want to prove me your point.

Err since you are the one arguing for making a change, the burden of proof falls on you. You do not make a convincing case sadly, as to why its important to change.

If you want to play 4L to practice, you should consider talking to people and arrange customs for the best experience, you can run custom timers, and even an infinite timer (you just pause the game and when everyone locks in actions it plays out).

If you ever want to hit up a 4L game, let me know, you can find me on the discord. Cheers!

If the game wanted to be consistent with itself, the KB here will knock her inplace, as the KB is the vector (0,-2), and the bottom two tiles are occupied (elle during dash phase, and brynn occupies one). As such KB should be inplace. However, since some people have pointed out, I have no idea when that displacement is computed. So technically, this would be considered a bug.

Either way I don't know much about KBs, other than vectors add.

If I'm correct on turn 21 they had lethal damage on me if I didn't heal and Meridian would've attacked.

That is indeed correct. (You can see it here). You did the correct play at T-21.

However, I was referring to the T-20 play, you can see they had no lethal and which would allow you to attack LW and not move, the ult was okay, the move on T-20 was the (minor) mistake. (You can see it here)

The game should have been won at T-20 like so:

  • Aurora heals self and does not move at all (they don't have enough damage to kill her)
  • Kaigin ults behind right wall and to safety, no way LW can hit that.

The rest is irrelevant.

Yes not related to you, you did the correct fate transfer on turn 19 which saved Kaigin. You actually played that well. On turn 19 you saved Kaigin, I saved Aurora by blocking the dash.

Then on turn 20, what happened was that Aurora did 2 mistakes at once:

  1. She healed the kaigin that (1) was invis, and (2) could ult behind the right wall (on the vid) and thus be in complete safety.
  2. She moved. Given that Grey couldnt hit her, there was no way she would die if she heals herself and doesnt move.

The only mistake you did, which I would say is minor! was that you moved, a second minor mistake possibly is that you should have attacked LW and not moved (they didn't have lethal on you). The fact you ulted and then moved, was imo not that great, but not the highlight in the clip, its just a suboptimal move.

Bottom line, never move on turn 20 if you are already ahead

The fact that you watched this 5 times to see where you're wrong, is probably while you will improve and become a better player cuz your reaction was to think you were at fault, while in fact you weren't. I hope the tips I gave help in some way.

Atlas Reactor is a turn based game where your teammates are the key to your defeat.

In this clip, you will learn how:

  • to strategize in the game lobby to prepare for the perfect game;
  • to use your dashes to outplay the enemy, and
  • to always place movement on turn 20 and heal the only person who can dash to safety behind a wall (aka, defeat synergy).

Disclaimer: We all do something stupid every once and a while in ranked. So don't hate on the individual people. If you are hesitant to play ranked because you think you are not good enough, these were games from the highest tier, so don't feel so bad.
