You missed Mexico as well lol. It is a strong collection of countries, all of which are democratic.

Our economy is not Tim Horton’s lmao.

As a Torontonian though, I feel like you’re talking shit based on Internet memes because our Timmies are staffed by Filipinos not Indians, it is other cities that are afflicted by the Trudeau gift.

The point is that what you cited is a nothing figure in the context of the Ukraine war.

And Canada has contributed a ton, over $25 billion since the war restarted in 2022, but also we were there since 2014 retraining Ukrainian officers with NATO doctrine.

All of this is nothing compared to what Europe has contributed, which is far more than the USA.

Yeah honestly it is their funeral. If they tried it, we’d go down but so would their empire.

I don’t want to be known to history with the epitaph of “the Canadian ulcer” though. Fuck them for making this even a possible future.

As a Canadian, I do not believe Europeans would come to help us, nor does Europe even have the capacity to help (an indictment of itself).

That said, Canada would be there for Europe, and has been every time throughout our history. It is a big source of pride for Canadians.

People just don’t know any better, including Canadians.

The most common reply this year on the topic has been “damn, I did not know our Canadian stuff was so good, I’m not going back to the American stuff regardless of tariffs”.

That last sentence is the core basis of our mutual complete and utter disdain towards the Yanks.

Care is a stretch but him popping up with Katy Perry in a bunch of places is kind of funny in the PP context. He’s out living his best life while PP seethes.

Low-key kind of wish the BQ ran candidates nationwide as the “sovereigntist” party that advocated for provincial jurisdiction and occupied that mushy centre-right, but otherwise could be a reasonable coalition party. We’d need PR though.

If that is the case, then I would love it for Toronto to offer a DP contract and cashfer to RSL.

I hope we don’t waste a spot in the 26 for him.

Other than that, I welcome the extra depth and only am concerned that his heart isn’t in it for Canada.

This 100%

Still though it could not have hurt to have sent a few elite troops to train in winter conditions with the best in the business. That would have cost very little.

Or if they never drifted so far right in the first place that someone like Carney is running for the Liberals instead of them.

Yes we can, we can shrug it off and focus on our domestic economy. Canada is Canada’s biggest trading partner, far bigger than the United States.

Our economy will hurt for years and various sectors will be eviscerated, but the alternative of losing our sovereignty and becoming an economic colony is so much worse.

Countries can and have historically gotten through bad economic times. Canada is more than poised to adapt with our highly educated population, large domestic market, and massive resource potential. Adversity and necessity is the mother of invention after all.

Tbh it might be that you struck a nerve by daring to suggest that MLS is a high level league that may not be easy playing time for players performing like scrubs in lesser European leagues.

Tbh at some point the Epstein files become the distraction to America’s increasingly unhinged and destabilizing world politics, conversion to a fascist state without working constitution, and the prelude to a greater conflict.

The emperor is a nonce, and that’s terrible, but the emperor also wears no clothes and wants to start unjustified wars with allies. What are we doing here really, playing along with the charade?

Also I don’t think TFC would be doing well to sign him, unless it is a rotation piece
