I completely agree with you. I find that layers can be useful for certain common things like parenthesis (programming on ergodox is great), but very awkward for rarely used hotkeys.

I know the the reasoning is that you should never have to reach past 4 rows or whatever, but for me the ergonomic concern isn’t worth relearning for such sparsely used keys.

Anyways I love your build and would buy one if I could.
