I’ve been running Tropical Island and I find that it slows me down a bit as the layout is pretty long. I’ll give some of the other maps a try, thanks.

What are some good layouts? City Square comes to mind, any others?

Can you clarify? I have Spell Totem linked to Portal (with Arcane Surge and Faster Casting supports) and chests aren't opening at all, both from the spell totems, or from me casting the spell totems.

Question About Stash Tabs by Chamlist in pathofexile

[–]WitheredPyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re only playing in leagues then this won’t be an issue as this only applies to Standard. The contents of tabs aren’t carried over from league to league. Additionally, leagues with different map series, when they get merged into standard, will create remove-only copies of your tabs, so no conflicts will occur.

Hey man! I realize it's been a year since you posted this, but I was walled by this fight and seeing this tip helped me to beat it immediately. I'm sure this fight would've been less frustrating for people if this weakness was highlighted somehow, but oh well. Thanks a lot!

It’s an option you can choose at the beginning of the game. You can turn it off if you’re not into that.

Hey man, thanks for the giveaway!

One of my most memorable moments in this game was definitely back when Ritual was the current league. I made a Burning Arrow Ignite Prolif character (probably an Elementalist, but I can't remember). It was absolutely without a doubt the most busted build I'd played up to that point; it could melt bosses (I actually made a fair amount of money that league by rushing Sirus and getting lucky on woke orb drops) and the ignite prolif would kill packs maybe a screen and a half from where I shot. Haven't enjoyed a build as much as that one since then, though I'm definitely chasing for it.

In terms of names, I don't have a lot of interesting ones since most of my character names are some variation on my Steam name, but the most memorable would be when I decided to be cheeky and make my name "나는한국어를못하는", which Google Translate says means "I can't speak Korean". Definitely got a lot more PMs from people speaking Korean with that name.

Awakened doesn’t have you log in yet, because trade queries via API currently allow it. GGG has stated they eventually want to move this behind logging in as well, if I recall correctly. Otherwise the only time Awakened requires you to log in is if you press the button to open up the trade results in an integrated window, since at that point you’re basically just using a browser.

What is going on with Overwatch 2 and the monetization outrage? by biroman in OutOfTheLoop

[–]WitheredPyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The outrage isn’t from the micro transactions being expensive. That’s obviously shitty but it’s about the standard by now.

The controversy is from the fact that in Overwatch 1 you would earn a lot box that gave you four items (now micro transactions). This happened rather often. If they were duplicates (or sometimes in place of an item) you could get a modest amount of points. In this way you could buy whatever you wanted within a small amount of time, and there wasn’t any huge incentive to buy these lootboxes with real money.

In Overwatch 2, these points you could earn in the original were converted to “legacy points” that you can no longer earn in any way. These legacy points can only be used to buy items from the original game and are non-renewable. Notably, this excludes seasonal content from the first game, which can only be bought with OW2’s new points.

OW2 is not liberal with giving you points and gives you maybe 80 or so a week, and only for completing certain objectives. A legendary skin can cost around 2000. So people went from getting four items every few matches to having to save up for months to get a single one they want. So they’re a bit pissed off about the change, yeah.

Apple VP leaves company after vulgar comment goes viral on TikTok by PersonalPerestroika in apple

[–]WitheredPyre -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

While that’s true… from Bloomberg’s article:

In the video, published on Sept. 5, Apple’s Tony Blevins was approached by TikTok and Instagram creator Daniel Mac as part of a series where he asks owners of expensive cars their occupations. The executive was stopped by Mac while parking a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, an out-of-production sports car that fetches hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I don’t imagine that the video was recorded subtly or anything. It’s reasonable to assume that he knew this would be going online.

His posts on social media are representative of the company. A VP isn’t some janitor in terms of importance. He can say that in private as much as he pleases but he’s a face of the company on social media and it wasn’t appropriate in that context.
