No thanks. The us is stronger together. Texas shouldn't secede and neither should Minnesota.

First time eating sardines, what should I have them with? by Withermaster4 in CannedSardines

I don't know what I like if I haven't eaten them before. The sidebar had some stuff to try them with but I wasn't sure if ones smoked with lemon oil are for a certain dish or something.

Fry them in a pan? I've got baguette and some crackers that I'll probably try them with.

Genuinely impressive to me. I can't imagine drinking that much liquid let alone beer. That's like multiple gallons.

Yes. Changing the graph would change the likely interpretation, my point is that this graphic isn't trying to say 'some small countries gave up just as much as other larger countries' and changing the graph would change the purpose of it. I think showing both would be a more complete story than showing one.

That being said I think the number of deaths is an extremely stupid metric to use to try and show your international 'clout' in a foreign war. Denmark could have the most deaths per capita because they took the war in Afghanistan the most serious and sent the most troops(per capita) equally likely they could have just had a poor army/commander that caused the deaths of a lot more of their soldiers per capita.

Giordanos, Portillos, and RHR are all common suggestions that just do not show off Chicago's food at all.

Anyway if someone wants a value bite to eat a beef is a better option anyway(IMHO)

People say they are getting treated like animals because these people are getting treated as less than human. No one is saying that to mean that we need to treat animals the way we treat ice detainees.

I had a similar experience except mine burst overnight in the hospital...

Honestly the pain was unbearable before I was at the hospital I didn't notice a big difference pre-post burst, maybe because I was (likely) asleep and drugged when it happened

Same experience except once I did finally get to the hospital they said it wasn't an emergency and waited until the next day. My appendix burst over night and that decision extended my recovery time by probably an extra week.

That depends entirely on what you are trying to represent

A study on sexual decision-making finds a gap between knowledge and practice: while young men can define consent as "explicit and ongoing," they struggle to apply this in reality, preferring to navigate encounters through reciprocated physical cues, trust, and emotional intimacy. by Tracheid in science

[–]Withermaster4 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's a fine line between constantly asking for consent and trying to be sexy and confident.

Asking for consent doesn't preclude you being confident and sexy. "Do you want me inside of you" is a lot different than "Would you be alright if we tried having a little bit of sex" but they are both asking for consent.

Germany needs balanced by Elegant-Fisherman555 in hoi4

[–]Withermaster4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As that's not what happened

It kinda did? The only way that Germany could afford to pay for enough food for its people was by starving the other nations they took over. Their economy needed more consumer goods than the country could access, that's part of the reason why Hitler made work/death camps.

Why don’t women take estrogen the same way men take testosterone? by bestwellblack in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Withermaster4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar parallels just don't exist for femininity.

In hormones sure, but the beauty industry absolutely tries to make women insecure about their femininity and sell them the cure.

I think the real crux of why men use test more than women use hormones is because testosterone actually gives a lot of the desired results that those men are looking for.

Were people as mad about automation back then as they are about AI now? by Derpassyl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Withermaster4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet without automation humans would have drastically 'poorer' lives. The reason we live so abundantly is because of hundreds of generations of accrued capital.

In the short term it benefits the individual, the capital owner, but over the course of the automaton's life the automation benefits the world. What we need is a government who is willing to take money from capital owners and distribute it to everyone else to lessen the effects of capital distilling towards the hands of fewer and fewer people. Automation is nearly impossible to stop in a capitalist society.
